Don’t understand the need to blast music throughout the campsites. Multiple house parties up here. Trees were carved up with initials…did not feel aligned with this place seems more like a place to party than appreciate nature….

Lots of tent and RV spots, the spaces are fairly private considering all the sites there are. Stores are close to the camp area if you need supplies. The trailhead for the Vallecito river trail is right there. It’s a beautiful hike through the Weminuche Wilderness area. You also have the lake near by and the river runs through the camp ground if your up for a cold water plunge! Gets a little loud at night during the summers…all and all a great little spot!

Great spot! Lots of dispersed camping along the river. Fishing, hiking and swimming all right there. Great views of the Mountains. The star gazing at night was amazing. Great to see everyone packing out there trash. One of the cleaner and quieter camp areas I’ve been too in a while.

Love this area! Twenty plus miles on dirt roads to get in there. Lots of dispersed camping in the area as well. We didn’t stay at the campground…the lake is beautiful but small. Only real negative was the amount of trash piling up along the lake. Keep an ear out for coyotes around sunset!
