Jets!!!

This place was a blast. We came for a week and got to do a Halloween weekend here. They had so much fun activities, a band, trunk or treating, fun games and a food truck! This koa even has a zip line on across the street!!

We enjoyed our time here, the jets flying overhead from the nearby base is an amazing added bonus!

Fun place!

This was a fun week here! The water park is so fun. But then there were the farm animals, which was so sweet and amazing.

We took over our leftovers on the approved list to feed the horses and goats. The animals were sooo sweet!

The campground is huge with a cool stream separating them. There’s a trail with a bridge to cut across which is fun!

Over night stop

We did an overnight stop here.

The campground was ok, but our site sucked. It was under construction, so the yard was tore up and we had no picnic table. The site was super uneven, so we didn’t pull the slides out. Sucked about that picnic table for that reason especially.

The campground is ok for a holiday.

Great campground!

First off I made a mistake and thought I booked, but never did. So we showed up after closing expecting to find our names on late check in, but nope.

We sat at the gate for a min trying to find a place to go to when a staff member showed up on his scooter. He told us everything is closed but to call in the am and he’ll move some things around and get us in. I woke to a call in the am after I sent an email in the middle of the night to the staff member with a site ready for us.

The campground is very nice. Beautiful clubhouse, nice pool. Everything is well kept, safe, and beautiful.

It’s close to everything for exploring the area. We really loved it here!

For the price, find somewhere else

I’m all about awesome campgrounds, we’ve spent quite a bit on fancy resorts because we like them. However Sandusky KOA is not fancy. It’s sadly really run down.

Our campsite, wasn’t mowed as the grass was over the ankle. The pool is well used to put it nicely.

There wasn’t anything that really stood out as good. The secure front gate was never secure. You’re in the back by low income housing. Sirens were heard all night.

We aren’t shy about spending money on campsites, but this one was not worth the price at all!!

Hands down favorite campground!

This place is FUN!!!

The campground in itself is a blast. The waterpark, playground, hammock area, swings, biggest sand box ever, all the activities, and can’t forget the ice cream shop!!!

Then add in ATV access from the campground, waterfront sites to park your jet skis, and horse rides onsite!!

We never really wanted to leave! The staff were awesome! The grounds are well maintained and they have the best grass. Lol

My only suggestion would be to put in a fenced in dog park, but other than that, this is a must stop if ever in the Silver Lake area.

Location, location, location

First off, the rep on the phone who says Love all the time is just pure joy!

This campground is like a parking lot, with absolutely nothing but a spot to park. It’s pricy, but if your planning on seeing everything NYC has to offer, you can’t get a better base camp unless you got a room in the city.

It’s super close to public transportation. There’s cute good food spots all around. You feel safe for being in a big city. You can see Lady Liberty from the park.

Was it my favorite place to stay, no. But for the time we spent at home at the campground, which was minimal, it worked perfect. We got to spend 8 days in the city exploring, we were exauhsted, but we felt we did the city good!

Great hosting campground for a rally

We recently attended a FTF rally at this campground.

The staff was great and the campground was set up perfectly for our group!

The big field between the clubhouse and playground was great for us to gather at for talks and adult vs kids games. The clubhouse is nice and spacious. It has a large room for activities. Down the hall you’ll find a great arcade room with fun free games. The kids and adults all loved it.

We visited during Halloween and joined in the campgrounds holiday fun. They have a haunted hey ride, a costume parade, site decorating, and trick or treating through the canpground.

One downside is the campground is close to the road, so there is a lot of road noise. The upside is it’s a great stop off the main road, with easy off and on access.

Tranquil, beautiful, fun

We spent 2 separate weeks here. The 1st one was planned, the second was because we loved it so much there.

The first thing that captured my heart was the drive in!! It is AMAZING!! The bridges, beach views, sand dunes, inland water views, it is something so pretty it’s hard to describe and be able to capture all the beauty! It truly is something you have to see and experience.

The campground is cute and has a beach vibe. There is a pirate ship playground, a huge pool and hot tub, jumping pillow, basket ball court, your kids will defiantly keep busy! They have my dogs favorite dog parks of all dog parks. They love running free in the sand! The store is cute and. If and has anything and everything you would ever need for an epic beach day.

Speaking of beach…this beach is captivating. The big waves are dreamy. On sunny days you’ll watch surfers and pelicans. Windy days you’ll see kite boarders and pelicans.

We went during the winter and the sea was so amazing. Everyday was a new beach. One day there was a 3’ drop off, the next day it vanished without a trace. The sea birds are adorable. And there are always fishermen being in something exciting be it a fish, shark, or sting ray.

One down side of winter was most of the stores and attractions are closed, but the upside is a quiet campground for beachy dreams and soul filling peace.

This park is Rad!

Even the breathtaking view from the highway is enough to go to Nehalem Bay State Park. The campground is nice, enough room to not feel packed in. The beach walk is steep and long, but oh so worth it! The beach is amazing…like when you all of a sudden look up and there’s the beach….it’s mind blowingly beautiful. A perfect playground for the day, and a great spot for a fire to watch the sun go down. There are also wonderful dunes to hunker down behind to have a less windy beach day. One day the wind was blowing the sand just high enough to hit unsuspecting toddlers in the face. When your not on the beach, Nehalem Bay has a very nice bike path that goes out past the bay and loops back around past the runway. Yes! A runway with small planes landing either for the day or for a weekend to fly-in-camp style! A beach day at the bay during lower tides is a must! So much sea life to watch. Birds dropping right down and grabbing fish. A seal popping it’s head out and looking at us. And a very awesome view cave dug below tree roots. That hike up is steep…but my toddler did it multiple times. It’s that cool and safe. She would scoot on her butt down then roll down towards the bottom. Nehalem Bay State Park is one extremely rad and fun park, one place that is now a yearly tradition of my family. I’m sure it will be one of your families too.
