Nice small area close to Bryce Canyon

Turn left after the yellow Posts (cattle grate). There’s maybe 4 spots here. Close to the road, but minimal traffic noise. Verizon service works. 3 spots are level for tents. 2 medium sized buses here when I visited in September 2024

Lots of spots. Great views

Right off of Hwy 12. If you take the first left turn off the main road, there are some awesome spots with great views. Nice level spots with fire pits. Roads are decent. Very quiet first week in Sept.

There’s a gas station 2 miles down the road. Very close to Bryce Canyon. Great free camping spot.

Quiet little oasis

This rustic campground within the Superior National Forest is one of the many great options available in the area. There are 7 sites available, vault toilet and a boat launch. All the sites have a pull in area a tent pad spot an picnic table. I only stayed one night, but watching the sunset on the lake from my campsite was wonderful! It’s pretty easy to get too. I use Avenza Maps to keep track of my location in the North woods for piece of mind. It’s quiet campsites let you get lost inalienable the natural beauty around you.

Be careful in early summer, there were 4-5 turtles laying their eggs near the bathrooms. The mosquitos were crazy too. But, that’s Minnesota.

Great State Forest Camprground

I’ve stayed here twice. Nice variety of campsites. There are about 10 sites that are next to the water giving you access to fishing, swimming and docking a small watercraft. Most of the sites are surrounded by trees. Which is great for privacy. There are a few that are open with no trees between the sites. These are great for trailers and 5th wheels or a large group requiring multiple sites. There is a picnic/ day use area, swimming beach and boat launch. I caught a few bass and panfish both times I was there. There are water stations and vault toilets but no other amenities. Will definitely visit this place again.
