Nice and clean

I’m not going to knock any stars off, because there is nothing actually wrong with the campground. But, I just feel it doesn’t work for our family.

It’s extremely clean, very spacious sites, the river view is beautiful and the pool looks great.

It isn’t my favorite for campgrounds we’ve been to because it isn’t the most toddler/young child friendly as we are used to. We have a child with a prosthetic leg, so our situation is unique, and it can determine how much we like a place. The playground structure is not very friendly for kids with special needs or very young children. It’s wooden with a ladder to access the upper levels, it was hard for our 2 and 4 year old to use it easily. They also don’t have any toddler swings, just regular ones set a little too high for young children. It’s also sand rather than wood chips, so it made it difficult for our daughter to walk in in her prosthetic. Only a portion of the roads were paved as well and the rest was gravel, so my little ones were disappointed that they couldn’t ride their scooters and balance bikes right by our campsite.

Again, there is nothing wrong with this campground, it’s beautiful and comfortable. But it may not be ideal for those with little kids in that in between age or young ones with special needs. We tend to be willing to pay more for private campgrounds that suit our needs, and this one just doesn’t quite hit the mark for us. They also definitely seem to like/cater more to the big fancy rigs, not so much the smaller campers. And they don’t allow tents.

First to Review
Nice, small, and quiet.

This is our 2nd time staying here and we really like it. It has a nice boat launch onto a sports lake that also connects to another larger sporting lake. There is a nice clean beach area, little bit pebbly, but always freshly raked and cleaned every morning.

It is mostly seasonal camper sites, however they do have a few sites for weekend campers like we are. One is a really nice group site that we always reserve and can accommodate 4 or more campers depending on the size. The group site is right next to the boat launch and beach.

The sites only have electricity, no water or sewer, but the amenities station is right near the restrooms and not terribly far away. It also has nicely paved roads and grassy sites. The weekend sites are not shaded, there are no trees on the group site.

The showers and restrooms are very clean and a clean porta-potty is located near the boat launch as well.

There are two very nice and well kept playgrounds as well that also have toddler swings as well as swings for bigger kids.

My only complaint is, the group site always is riddled with goose droppings. We’ve taken to bringing a rake and large outdoor rugs because it can be really bad. But, that being said, there isn’t a ton that can be done about that and we still really enjoy this campground.
