I love Tea Creek so much. It’s one of my go to, favorite spots. Campsites are nice and private, with the majority having sites that are pretty good sized and mostly flat.
There are great hiking trails, a good place to ride a bike, nice places to play in the water, and fantastic trout fishing.
Right now part of Williams River Road is shut down, and it’s really nice to bike.
Beautiful campground located in the middle of nowhere. Quiet and peaceful with a fantastic stream going through the campground to either fish or play in. Some of the campsites are smaller and less private than others. We stayed in campsite 11, and it had plenty of privacy and space. In all reality, that campsite could easily be made a double because it’s really good sized.
Picture of the waterfall is at the cabin area of the park. You would have to drive from the campground to there. Picture of the creek is down the hill from the campsite.
Campsites were easily accessible. Most of them were on the larger size, with nicely paved driveways, and big, flat, gravel tent pads. Campsites were pretty private for the most part.
The Stuart Recreation Day Use area isn’t really accessible to the campground unless you drive down the hill to it. You could walk/bike it, but it’d be quite the hike and definitely not do able with kids.
Picture is from the day use area on the river.
Most of the campsites can accommodate larger rigs. There’s very easy access off the interstate. We stayed in campsite 5, “beside” the creek. The site was one of the more private ones, with a good sized flat area. There was no access really to the creek, unless you walked up the road to the bridge.
There’s very little to do at the campground. There is a nature trail located on the campground, and the Seven Sisters Trail goes by the campground as well.
We visited in July, and it was very hot and crowded.
If you are content to go someplace, park your camper, and hang out at the campsite the entire time I’m sure it would be a nice place to visit. But if you are more like me, and like to hike, fish, bike, etc. this probably isn’t the place for you. While it wasn’t a bad place, I don’t see myself returning here.
The only reason I’m giving this campground a 3 is because of the ease of accessibility.
