I will start off by saying overall its very nice place with adequate space to fit most RV sizes. Now with that said, our stay was far from the experience we booked/paid for. First, we booked online and for whatever reason their site changed our reservation dates to -2 days than what we booked for, which we did not discover until we arrived and could not get in. Luckily a gentleman from their sister site answered pur after hours call and got us fixed up.
Originally this particular site was advetised as being family family which it is not. This place is very much tailored to longterm RV/campers who are 55+. Another camp site had teens messing around on the property and instead of addressing it with those campers, the facility/staff sent an email out to everyone saying, ALL kids under the age of 16 are not to be at the pool, using the restrooms/showers, or being outside away from their designated camp site without constant adult supervision. This was not advertised on their site when we booked with them, and so our kids were mature kiddos were forced to be babysat during their vacation.
Secondly, most of the staff are rude and when we tried to be polite and be patient with them, they still treated us like we were trash to them - they are only respectful and friendly with the longterm RV/campers.
In summary, I would NOT recommend this place to families with kids under 16, and honestly even if your kids are over 16, the staff would probably still tell you, they cannot be left alone.
Friendly staff, great campground setup. Very accomodating to travelers with dogs as they habe a dog walking path and dog park. The showers at the main house are free and open 24/7 - big and well maintained. The propane station was great too as we do not have a rig with portable bottles. The sites are beautiful with different art sculptures all throughout the campground. Plus it is a gated campground which definitely made our family feeling safe and secure. The sites are full hookup plus wifi which was decently strong. Would definitely recommend this campground!
They are a first come first serve RV site, which luckily when we showed up there was only 1 other RV parked. We picked a secluded back corner spot which was 1 of 2 full hookup sites (electric & water, no sewer). The dump station was unavailable due to a broken drain, and there were only porta-potty style bathrooms on the campground. The showers were down the road a bit, amd were your typical state park showers - hot water, no amenities which is totally fine. There are bear boxes on each site which was good to have in that area! We hiked the old coal mining camp on the side of the canyon and the woods behind our site which was a lot of fun!
Midnight stop to rest for a few hours. Basic, small setup for RVs. We used the electricity hookup, but it was too cold for us to hookup to water. Unsure if there was a sewer hookup as there was snow on the ground and we weren't about to go digging around to find out. Office attendant was friendly and polite to a few tired travelers.
