Quaint campsite

Arrived before the weekend, around late morning. Greeted by the park ranger, they gave the basic information for these sites. Limited spots here. You’re pretty close to your neighbor. Only some spots have bear lockers, ours did and we ended up sharing with another site that didn’t. Yes, there was warning that a bear had been really close to this area.

There are cabins, tent sites and room for trailers. Camp store with the usual goodies. Bathrooms, dish wash station, and coin showers.

Our spot had a picnic table and a fire ring. We stayed for a few nights with no complaints. AT trail is right there if you’re interested. We had limited to no service depending on where you were standing, so I wouldn’t expect much. But that’s why you’re out there right? There is a short trail nearby, saw some deer. The only thing I wish was a better view of the surroundings area like some of the pull. 360 view of only trees.

Cedar River Campground

Stayed at site number 5, I think. It was by the water in the woods just a little bit. Picnic table, fire ring and several outhouses nearby. Beautiful surroundings. There is a small landing to launch kayaks or canoes. A dam with some additional sites on the other side. Town is about 20-30 minutes away. Several trails nearby. Would recommend.

Also would recommend traveling further in if you are looking for more sites.

Vermont State Park Campground

We stayed two nights in early September 2018. Easily found with google maps. Was greeted by a friendly staff member and shown how to get to our site. Arrived in the pitch black but was easy to find out site. Tent site #10.

It was very quiet, everyone seems to be enjoying their own spot. You can see your neighbors but there is some room in between sites. Clean bathrooms and relatively clean showers. Out site hand a picnic table and fire ring with grate.

We were a very short walk to the beach, where you could swim. Perfect spot to practice some night photography with minimal light pollution.

Also had a fire going all night by the building attached to the bathrooms. They offered wood, ice and small things to buy if needed.

Definitely recommend staying here. Pricing would be the only slight negative, it is about average from what we have looked at. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Simple Campground

Stayed for an overnight trip. Site #47. Drive in, pick an open camp spot and pay for the nights by the front board. Clean area, some more open and several with in walking distance of the river. Picnic table with fire ring. Bath rooms were clean, didn’t use the showers but they do offer them. Three host locations for questions. Trails leading off in different directions.

Some sites have more privacy. The inside locations had more of the trees cut down directly around them. No noise problems at night or in the morning. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a campground.

Great Campground

Stayed here for four days and three night in early May 2018. Super friendly staff, available to answer any questions. Easy direction at the gate and directions to our site. We had two vehicles, one per site, meaning we had to pack one in the overflow. The site was clean, had a picnic table and fire pit with grate. Fit both of our tents with extra room. The sites are a little close together but we had no issues with our neighbors. The bathroom area was clean and cleaned several times while we were there. There is a trash area and place to dump greywater.

Great location being about not to far from Bar Harbor. Walking distance of the Park loop, if you would like to drive the loop, it is down the road a bit. Access to several different trails.
