Lots of places to set up camp. We set up below the mountain, but there are spots at the top as well. The clouds are amazing you are basically in them or above them. Definitely worth the trip!
Also recommend checking out skinny dipping falls it is about 5 miles away and about a mile round trip. Lots of fun and cool rocks to climb on.
Seemed like good spots near the lake but bugs were so bad in the dark when we arrived and decided not to stay. If you are camping make sure to get there before dark to set up.
Really cool spot right on the river and free and really close to glacier west entrance. Very clean porta potty’s. As some have mentioned it felt like a hippy community but that was okay. There are sites on the rock beach and then if you go past you will find some more spots that are on sand so maybe better for a ground tent. We came in late and we’re able to pick of a a few spots I would suggest getting there before sunset at least tho.
Definitely not great but worked for us because of the location. For one you are right next to a truck stop which may not be bad if you are in a RV, but in a tent you can hear every truck the whole night. They have RV and tent sites that’s are basically the same but cost changes. 25 for tent site and like 45 I think for RV.
this campground was relatively inexpensive ($10) compared to other campgrounds with plenty of availability. The views weren’t spectacular but the quality of the campground was totally worth it. The campsite contained a nice fire pit with benches made out of tree trunks. Fire wood was available for purchase ($6) in case you couldn’t find wood around the campsite, but we were able to scrounge to find plenty. The best part about the campground were the bathrooms. These were the cleanest, best smelling bathrooms- one even has some reading material. If you enjoy seeing horses as well, this is definitely your campground.
We got to the spot later and the day and were able to grab a spot there are multiple spots. The coordinates were slightly off like it is for the road just keep going until you find a spot. Make sure to follow bear safety stuff like pack your food in the car and you should be safe!
We were looking for a place between Devils Tower and glacier national park. Wasn’t thinking this would be anything special that was one of the better sites from our trip so far. They have four or five picnic tables a bathroom and a boat ramp and some cows that wonder around. If you don’t get here in time to get a picnic table you can kind of do camping wherever it seems good for you. Even took a bath in the lake to freshen up. Great site
Was a great site especially for being free. Love how close it is to badlands. It does get crowded but free is free. Idk if this was just our experience but it was insanely windy.
