This campground has everything your kids will need or want for a memorable camping experience. If your traveling with out kids it’s a bit busy/noisy and tightly spaced. Overall it’s a very good place to stop for a night or two if seeing Mt Rushmore. On the first night, after we finished hooking up, it was a welcome to have a hot meal right on the property. We enjoyed tacos and margaritas in the Prospectors tent while watching all the families come and go from the camp activities. It’s a huge campground, and they lease all manner of transportation for your stay, bikes, four wheelers and dune buggies. They have a full stable of horses and guided horseback tours. They also have two pools, one with a water slide, mini golf, a snack and ice cream stop, a few little stores for your firewood and camping needs, play grounds, basketball courts, a sand volleyball pit, activity pavilion, bounce pit, water fun zone and so much more. The views of the mountains are beautiful and the grounds are kept spotless. I’m sure with a campground this large that’s no easy feat. The abundant staff were friendly, and helpful and on their collective toes to make sure all this ran smoothly. We are empty nesters, so we didn’t take part in the activities much and moved on after our two nights, but would highly recommend this campground if you have kids and are looking to create some memorable days in camp. I will add It’s very pricey and the spaces are extremely tight… we’re a 36’ so we got the pull through costing 130 a night. Over all a nice experience, but a looking for a less expensive, less crowded spot next time we come through. We had no Verizon service here and the internet was very spotty. Overall Technology failure.
Friendly staff, clean, well maintained grounds, quiet and charming. This place had everything we needed for a few nights of work, rest and play. And to top it off the internet worked great. They have a pool, mini golf, kids play grounds, and an enclosed dog park. The laundry and bathrooms were exceptionally clean and updated. We splurged a little got the deluxe pull through with the swing, patio and fire pit, and saved a little with our AAA membership. And, after having gone through death valley and the High Sierra Valley having the lovely tree coverage was awesome. This camp ground is tucked into a residential area, and far enough off the interstate to not hear the noise, but close enough to town and all the other amenities to make it very convenient. It’s also on the river, but we didn’t have a chance to take advantage of that on this trip. I only gave four stars because we were positioned right behind the maintenance residence and there was a lot of noisy activity coming and going at all hours. I’m not complaining, they did an excellent job of maintaining and I’m sure if we were in any other location on site we’d not been bothered by this at all. We’d definitely stay here again.
Lovely sounds of the river and beautiful sunsets over the mountains! This dry camp was an excellent 2 night escape from our normal stops in RV parks. Level sites and easy pull through for our 36’ rv and toad. We were able to find a cozy spot right next to the river. The bugs and the dust are a bit much, but we had a blast with the dogs in the river, and enjoyed the peace and quite. Bring your bug spray and sunscreen!
Not the best experience. The entrance is quite tricky and very steep. We missed the entrance and had to find a place to unhook and turn around. (We’re in a 36’ RV pulling a Jeep) The hookup spaces are so close together you can touch your neighbor, so we missed the beautiful views the partial hook up guys were able to enjoy. It’s a little run down and quite pricy. The dog “park” isn’t fenced, so if your hoping to let your dogs stretch there legs, this isn’t the place for you. We will find another stop next time we come through.
