Great little hidden gem campground. Clean with electric, water and bathrooms. Only 30 sites, many with lots of trees and shade.
Started at site 73 (Lakeview Loop) for one night and switched to site 26. They recently cleared out the tree behind site 73 and our spot was bare. And no view but some power lines. But it is the best loop for bigger RVs. We have a tiny camper and much preferred the "Turkey Oak" Loop. Mike Roess campground is beautiful place, we just got the worst spot to start. Site 26 was beautiful. Lots of trees. Private on one side. Our favorite spots are, in this order, 25, 18, 29, 31, 33, 35, 4, 24, 22, 21, 33, 19, 20, 13, 15, 16. #68 through to 71 (68 and 71 are our favorites in that loop) in the Lakeview loop have a nice view of the Lake. MOST have water and electric hookup. Bathrooms are super clean with Showers! Beautiful moss covered trees throughout the grounds and some historic buildings on site. I believe the rent canoes for the lake too! They sell firewood at $7.00 a bundle but you need exact change. We are going back next month and staying with some friends. Great Weekend!
Only 15 sites at this campsite. But most are a Beautiful Waterfront! Super clean, bathrooms, water, electric and more! Sites 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 are nice… sites 7 and 8 are our favorites!
Very primitive. Fire ring and benches. Non potable water pump. Great for hunters or airboat lovers. Small shelter area. Gator Heaven ;)
Great for hunters. Not a lot there for hiking campers. Very primitive.
Another awesome place if you are a boater! Beautiful views. Grounds need a little work. Electronic and water hookups on sites. Bathrooms and showers available. We did a quick tour of the area to stay next summer.
From the website: Located on the north shore of Lake Murray, Putnam's Landing (no website; 1201 Putnam Dr, Chapin; 803-345-3040) is open from April to October and features 24 sites for tents or RVs. Sites include sewer and electrical hookups, but offer central water only. Shower and restroom facilities are located in the campground, and Putnam's landing also offers an on-site restaurant.
Just amazing! Stunning cabin. They supply wood. Water, electric and everything you need. Right in the water. Listen to the river. See the photos. It was awesome!
Jocassee state park in Devils Fork is awesome for the family! Lots of water activities. The area is clean. We had an awesome stay!
Cute place. Interesting stays. Glamping tent, a bus, a tent pad, a few tiny cabins and more. Owners are nice and very accommodating. Shared gas fire area. It was a very cold night and they had our tent with heated blankets. It was definitely a Unique glamping area.
So much for family's to do here. We stopped by to check it out on our way to another site and wished they had a spot available. We will be booking this for another time. Water is so clear. Site is so clean.
Stunning Views. No Bad Spots. A little crowded, but worth the views and crystal clear water. Watet and Electric at sites. Heated Bathrooms with showers. Super clean campground. We went in Oct, 2020. I would imagine this place would be super crowded in summer. When we went in fall it was comfortable and not too many people. But the sites are close to one another. #49 is super private and like a penthouse suite with 360 views of the water. We stayed at #46, our 3rd favorite site. #43 hit our number 2 favorite as it is a bit away from everyone with view of water in front and behind you! We will be back. From AtlasJeeper!
Since it is a large Rock cliff, probably not nest for kids. But is does have an amsonh view
Really no bad spots here! So many amazing spaces. This is site #26
We stayed in Oct, 2020, at site #46 which was awesome views. Also loved sites #43 and #49 (Best sites in my opinion). Beautiful Place! Clean. Awesome views. The water is crystal clear. Lots of boats. October had great cool weather and beautiful that the leaves are changing to falls colors. I have seen pictures of this place being very crowded in summer. So, I prefer fall :) Seems great for kids and pets. Not a lot of space or privacy between campsites, but the views are worth the less private sites. Water and electric at each site. Showers in bathrooms too. We will be back!
Lots of wildlife to see. Deer, Bear and more. Spectacular place! We hammock camper the for two nights.
Nice for a romantic getaway or for families. Lots to do. Little farm area with chickens and trials to hike. Stuff on-site is amazing. They even have a tree house you can rent out!
Beautiful place. Kayaking here is awesome. Try not to go during a tourist time. The cabins are very large. Fireplaces. Larger bedrooms…
Just Wow! Amazing views. Private. Our oun little spot int the woods. Awesome Sunrise :)
Cosby Campground is a stunningly beautiful place to camp. Clean, bathrooms, very private sites. Mostly tent sites a few RV sites. But, No Electric, No Cell Service, and No Showers! What a good feeling to be totally disconnected. I literally could not check my messages, work emails, phone calls. No excuses.
Just out of a Totally off grid few days at Cosby Campground in Tennessee. We did a 5 mile hike up the side of a mountain, 2,300 feet in elevation gain, to Henwallow Falls that kicked our asses! Steep hills, mud, slippery rocks and roots, over narrow log bridges to get to the waterfall and then… back down. We are hurting today! But a good kind of accomplishment pain. We did it!
Our pictures are of site 88 and site 75. Two big RV spots for our tiny squaredrop camper. Remember, no power. We used out jackery 1000 for recharging small electronics the 5 days we were there.
88 was more private. But if we had to go again… we saw #93. Great Big and Private RV site in a corner.
