Because it's a large, park, multipurpose campground, it can be crowded and noisy. Especially if you are tent camping. Easy access to all amenities and rim of canyon.
Great hiking and camping in the National Park.
Requires permit from Grand Canyon National Park. Popular site, hard to reserve. Two night maximum. Must backpack in to site.
Forested campsites in mountains. A few campsite loops. Can get crowded and noisy. Bears. Fire rings and picnic tables.
Convenient for location in park. Keep food stored properly from animals and bears. Store, RV sites. I was tent camping.
But, a convenient place to camp if you are visiting and exploring the park. Ranger led programs, lava tunes, volcanic landscape.

Paved road drive up campsites overlook Utah Valley and Wasatch Mountains. Restrooms, fish cleaning station, fire rings and picnic tables.
Large campground for car camping, RVs and tents. Open approximately May to September. If you're backpacking, you wouldn't really stay here. Get a permit and a bear canister and head out into the wilds away from the campground noise! Ranger programs per schedule.
Just a short distance from the overlook there are five campsites. Primitive. No tables. Fires are not allowed. Requires permit from Grand Canyon National Park to camp. Long dirt roads to access may be impassable during rainy weather. Also watch for flash flooding. Also known as Tuweep.
Remote, quiet, free. Three campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. One vault toilet. 1/2 mile from Thunder River trailhead which takes you to rim of Grand Canyon. Note: overnight in Grand Canyon National Park requires a permit!
