This campsite was a wonderful stop for us on our way home from our road trip. You can book these campsites online, but there were plenty of spaces available if you don’t have cellphone service. You do have to pay to enter the recreation area in addition to paying for your campsite. The campsites were spacious with well kept restroom facilities. I only wish we could have spent a few more nights so that we could enjoy the beach. I feel like this would b the perfect stop for families!
This campsite is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the Bighorns it’s quite the adventure getting there! The winding roads are not paved but well kept, so make sure your car is up for the task! On the way we saw various wildlife and stunning Mountain views. You can’t book these sites in advance, it’s first come first serve. You can pay with cash or check via an Dropbox after selecting your site. We got in late, but we were still able to snag a lovely site that had a meadow and tall pines as it’s backdrop. The sites are nice and private with raised grills. There are latrines available. When we went there wasn’t firewood available so I would purchase a few bundles at the bottom of the mountain.
