Great place to stop & relax. Laundry room large & comfortable. Bathrooms clean. Friendly staff. Only negative is that tent spots don’t have much shade & one picnic table needs replacing.
Got site next to AK river. Nice & quiet spot, lots of birds. Nice RV neighbors. They made me put up a tent even though I was sleeping in my car. That was a bit annoying, but I think it’s state law (no overnight sleeping in cars). Bathrooms a bit outdated but worked. Guy said showers on other end had warm water for longer time.
Enjoying it, end April, cool weather. Sites spacious & trees nearby. Only a few RVs ‘n me. No tents. My neighbors from Oklahoma City saw it’s booked for weekend. Locals love it. Nice easy short hikes. Bathrooms a bit outdated but work. One has a super old hand drier (works!) from , my guess by looks, 50+ years!
It’s the Skunkape Headquarters! It’s got a lot more to offer than other camp stops that cross FL along US41, though a bit pricey. They have a reptile exhibit which you can visit for free if you’re staying here. Safe, clean & friendly.
Challenging 7 mile hike to get there on in maintained, but beautiful trail. Was very wet (August). Must cross mud flats to get to beach. Beach is not a swimming beach, it’s muddy & shallow. Very thin sand area to putch tent in. Mosquitoes & no-see-ums can be horrible if no breeze. We got beautiful clear day, but scary thunderstorm at 3 am! Better not to attempt in summer.
Great campground, warm showers, clean. Some sites don’t gave shade, some quite small. Lots to do in Park. Beware of mosquitoes. Don’t come in the summer.
