Quiet but trashy

This place had such good reviews but it was pretty trashed. Broken glass, trash in the fire pits, trash in the campsites, the pit toilet was shockingly clean. Quiet place to camp, not full but plenty of other campers. Wouldn’t seek this camp spot out. Reservoir pretty small and marshy.

Incredible rocks

There is an established campground near the very end of the road. It was full on a mid-May weekend. Plenty of camping at pullouts along the dirt road. Really beautiful area for hiking and many folks fishing and boating.

Spring camping

Few campers at the grounds made this a nice, quiet place to stay for the night. The sites are spacious, but many of the sites wouldn’t have much privacy if all spots were full. Site 19 was nice near the back with tree canopies over the picnic area.

Felt sketch initially but was great

Tons of campers. I headed out on the road toward the coordinates but ended up camping about 4 miles before even getting to them. Maybe it gets more secluded? Once I lost cell service I turned back to find a spot within range, given that there were so many campers I didn’t feel totally safe and there was nowhere to have unseen privacy. Big groups and ATVs set up with really loud music but everyone observed quiet hours and the ambiance ended up being entertaining.

Organized and clean tent camping

Loved this spot for a night. Practically in the NP, hard to tell the park bounds of Saguaro. Camp hosts were orderly and extremely friendly and available. Grounds were tidy! Bathrooms were clean. Felt really safe as a solo camper. Tent only sites are secluded to themselves. I was in B2 and I’d book that one or B3 if I ever go back. This tent site cluster has a little shade whereas the other two tent sites down the road are pretty exposed.

Littered roadside pull-off

This was a large pull-off right off of NF-52, so there was no privacy from the hwy but at least the area was big enough to be a little distanced from traffic. The spots on the river were already occupied when I was looking late on a Sat afternoon, this is a popular dispersed area. The entire area was littered with toilet paper and discarded furniture. There was also a memorial hidden in some trees just out of sight of 52. Wouldn't have been a bad spot if people had picked up after themselves, but the trash situation was over the top. Thankful to have in a pinch but def wouldn't camp there again. (The pull off is right off the highway from what the coordinates show).
