Peaceful place

These spots were roomy and well maintained.  The museum was very interesting, we learned several new things and our boys earned their Jr Ranger badges. The walk around the mounds were a bit long, however, it was so peaceful. We had several deer cross our path and many of the simply stopped to watch us. We got several pictures of them. The rangers told us that at the end of this season they will be building new shower facilities. We plan on putting this park on our list of future stops!

Interesting area

There was several things of interest if you like geology. RV sites were easy to get into. Quiet place to stop. Only complaint is the showers require quarters to operate (they don’t charge for day use) was the answer we were given when we asked about it.

Side of the mountain side

Sites share a power pole but still not so close as some places. 🚿 Showerhouse & bathhouse was clean and handicap accessible. Museum on site was small but interesting. Friendly, helpful staff.

Nice lake activities

Site was very sparse, no shade unless you brought it with you. Cabins right next to our site. Bathroom wasn’t close- quite a hike away. We drove due to handicap member. Shower house was even further away in the opposite direction, which meant another drive. Both facilities were not only extremely dirty but terribly kept. Rusty and no bench or hooks to place your clothes on while showering. If you are going to be engaged in water activities you will have a good time though.

Under Development

Sites are still being made, not all sites have picnic tables or fire pits. NO SHADE! For a one night stop between destinations it’s okay.  $ is right.

Lots of room

Pull through sites, bathhouse was clean and showers were individual room with timed lights, motion sensors kept the shower interesting! Got to see turtles laying eggs and deer were all around. Family loved the fishing.

Tons of photography opportunities

Just beautiful and peaceful.

Headwaters of the Mississippi River

Great place to see and visit! Lots of opportunities to photograph! Enjoyed geocaching as well.

Family owned & operated

Peaceful and serene, at the end of the road. Family camping RV sites have playground right there. Paddle Boats available and swimming beach. Right on the lake so kids spent a lot of time in the lake and on the lake fishing. Shower house has bathroom and washer & dryer.

Under development

This is a former Renaissance Faire site that is being turned into a Campground RV Park. They were laying new foundations when we were there. Bathroom/ shower house was very nice & large with 2 entrances. Large playground. Close to a ball park. Tons of geocaching in the area.

Interesting short stop

This place has a lot of permanent campers on site. Very friendly crowd though

First to Review
Nice, peaceful +great rangers

RV Sites are really nice- all of them are almost perfectly level, Each has a pad for tents, fire ring, bbq, lamp hanging post. Showers have bench for your stuff, they are clean & well kept.

Super nice stay!

Pads are level, wooden deck fire ring, plenty of room for tents, laundry room bathroom & showers were clean, playground well kept. My boys enjoyed the fishing. Short drive to French Quarter.

Great stay

Close to Vicksburg Military Park. Full hook ups for our RV.

Super site!

We were right on the water (11 sites are) lots of things to do. We learned a lot and our youngest earned to Jr. Ranger Patch. Buddy sites to share. Lots of Geocaching!

All & peaceful

Nice facilities with clean bathrooms. Pull through site was very easy to set up and take down. Friendly staff were helpful and really knowledgeable.

Beautiful views

We stayed here because we were going to Mammoth Cave, but loved the place for its own beauty. The sites were spacious, the hook ups were easy to access for the RV and there was plenty of room for 2 tents besides. Nice playgrounds, easy access to trash dumpster, bath house is also a storm shelter! Fishing was close to our site so boys were happy. Neighbors weren’t very close and trees are everywhere.

Lots of history

There is tons of history and a quick drive to Paris will get you more, that was why we chose to camp here. Disappointed in the camping part- pads is very small for RV, the connections are far away, the pool & shop closed at 6pm (it’s summer and they close at 6!) no room for vehicles and the trees were so close we couldn’t op our awning up all the way. Neighbors really close too!

Never saw the host in the 3 days we stayed but the shower house was clean and well kept.

Closest RV Park to Historical Savannah

Very nice staff. Club house was like being in your own home. Sites were easy to maneuver the RV in.

Super view

We stayed in a site with only electrical because it was booked up, but the pavilion totally made us forget we didn’t have water in our RV. The bathroom was attached to the pavilion which made water easily accessible. Fishing from our site made my boys really happy.
