Above average, nice sized spots, clean amenities, level plots, heated pool and hot tub, leave you alone if you want peace (which some nicer places don't!!), tons of activities for the kids .
Husband and I wanted to get away and found this campground- it is such a gem! You can't see it well from the road, but there is a huge sign out by the road. Trust it! You're in the right place. You drive across a small bridge across the Little River when you get to the campground, but it can handle big rigs. We saw many massive Class A campers while we were here for 6 nights. We pull a 30 ft travel trailer and used a pull through site- very large spot as far as rv sites go. They have back in spots for campers and tents literally on the bank of the river and you're allowed to swim, play, tube, etc in the river at your own risk. Camp store has firewood and a few essentials, but they don't sell propane. We got ours filled at the Tractor Supply in Alcoa, TN nearby. They had crafts and hayrides while we were here. Wifi is free but not great. Verizon cell service was good enough at 3 bars the whole time. No on-site laundry services, so we had to go into town to use laundromat (nearby town of Townsend is adorable but no laundromat). The grounds offer tent, cabin, and rv sites with various levels of electric, water, cable and sewer access. Our site had 30amp, water, sewer and cable. Nice and level site, large fire pit, sturdy plastic and metal picnic table and large beautiful mature trees. The bathhouse is seriously impressive and is, by far, the nicest campground bathhouse I've ever used! One of my favorite features was random and I never knew I was missing it in my life until now.. the bathrooms have strong AC pumping right into each bathroom, making everything nice and cool when you come in from the hot campsite.. wonderful! Good view of the mountains in the distance and minutes away from Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance. This is a wonderful find!

Used to be free on BLM but it's now being transitioned to a state park so it costs $15/night. Max stay is 14 nights. Port a johns on site and are clean. Huge property with lots of sites and fire pits, beautiful night sky views and only 15 mins away from Arches NP and 30 mins away from Canyonlands NP. Awesome!
We were looking for an unplanned spot to boondock on a Wednesday evening when our day didn't go as planned.. this is such a great location, just outside of Moab and only 15 mins away from the entrance for Arches NP and 30 mins away from Canyonlands NP. There was a QR code on a billboard at the entrance for us to scan to pay the $15/night fee. There was also a drop box provided to pay with cash or check if desired. There was a sign that stated max stay was 14 nights. Animal-proof.trash recepticals were plentiful and they provided ample portapotties. There is SO MUCH space here, it's wonderful. We have a 28 ft travel trailer with one and and tow with a Chevy Silverado. Tons of room! The stars were amazing
This location has no hookups but does have a dump station, vault toilets and small bbq grills available. Beautiful sunsets just a short walk away in the dunes. Day use is also available
We stayed here for just under a week in June. Everything on the website looked impressive, clean and full of amenities. When we arrived, everything looked so run down and wasn't as described. For example, they advertise having a rock wall.. which is a hollowed plastic preschool-type structure not more than four foot tall, meant for very little kids. The playground itself is very run down and all of the plastic is sun bleached. The indoor pool and hot tub are nice features - except for the fact that the tub has an odd tile arrangement (see pictures) and that both the pool and hot tub close at 6pm! Super early and such a disappointment for the kids. The jumping pillow isn't fully inflated and was very dirty. I also noticed that one particular staff member persistently drove his golf cart around the grounds over and over all day and into the evening, stopping frequently to talk to everyone..being friendly is one thing, but this came across more like micromanaging campers, asking questions about when they were leaving and reminding them to not leave welcome mats where they might touch the grass. It just really took away from the vacay vibe and honestly annoyed me. The kids did love the rental recumbent bikes!
We stayed here for a week during a cross country road trip/ summer vacay and this KOA did not disappoint. Staff were courteous and helpful, pool open until 10p was a big plus, community movie was shown on Saturday night, some retro arcade games were present in the main building and they also had a pool table and some board games to borrow. Hot tub was out of commission because of motor being damaged and price of fire wood was too high. Also, bummer that not all camp sites had a fire pit- we saw no rhyme or reason to this because they allowed personal fire pits on some lots and had fire pits on some more expensive lots. It seemed too much like a marketing ploy to get you to spend more money. Also, internet might as well not exist as it is useless, even to send an email and even when right there inside the main building. I know it is a rural setting, but we were able to provide our own better service, so I know they could do better if they wanted to/invested in it. Yes, I know it's camping and all about the outdoors, but it is 2022 and connectivity is vital to make travel plans, manage finances and stay in contact with home. Overall, lovely place
This is a good sized KOA that was easily located off the highway. Check in procedures after hours were straight forward. We had a pull through 30w full hookup spot and it was a bit on the snug side for our 29ft travel trailer and Chevy Silverado. We had to unhitch and park at an angle to fit and lots of others at the campground were doing the same thing. Pool was drained due to maintenance, but they had notified us of that prior to reservation. Lots of other fun activities for the kids were available, including basketball, playground and miniature golf. The camp kitchen provided was underwhelming compared to other KOAs (just a large plastic white sink with no real work space.. other KOAs have had wonderful set ups and that's always very convenient). The bathrooms were clean but showers are small with a small attached dressing area and the plastic lining of the shower walls was chipped in places. Just needs an update. The store was great and has some very cute camp decor and souvenirs as well as all sorts of standard camping supplies. WiFi was absolutely horrible, sorry to say.. even with our booster, couldn't even write an email on their WiFi. Verizon service was thankfully very strong and we relied on that.
Clean, convenient location right off of I-84, easy access to Multnomah Falls, trails and snacks at the visitor center. When we traveled, reservations were required to enter (can stay as long as you want once you are in), obtained from Recreation.Gov for $2.00. My only complaint was that all of the research I did from the various websites for this location (Recreation.gov, Oregon State Dept. of Transportation, Good Sam Camping Blog, Campendium/Dyrt/RV blogs, as well as Oregon and Portland tourism sites) never explained the parking situation for RVs and trailers clearly. Caused a lot of unneeded stress. RV parking is available in an adjacent lot to the car lot (no pull through spots, though).
We camped here in our travel trailer for one night and it was gorgeous. We arrived at the location around 11:30pm and first thing we noticed was how pitch black it was and how loud (in the best way) the adjacent Zigzag River was. Several people were car camping along the road as we got to the location and a couple of tent campers were nestled in a spot right beside this camp area. One portapotty was present as well as some picnic tables but no tent camping or fires are allowed in the actual camp spot. This is at a trailhead and we did a small portion of the hike in the morning- beautiful. You will be serenaded by coyotes calling in the distance. Perfect spot for us
We are on a two month long cross country road trip this summer, towing a 30ft travel trailer. We needed a place with full hook-ups as we'd been boondocking for several days and this place was perfect. Reservations were taken care of with one call, but none are needed as they also offer 24 hour first-come, first-serve spots, too. There are tent camping, no-hookup and just electric/water hookup options also available and all sites are pull through. This is a simple place but right off I-94 and very easy to access.
