This park was amazing! It had something for everyone in the family. The tent sites were nice and private. They have a pool, great hiking trails, and there is a float service nearby in Huntsville call Ozark Adventure & Recreation and they were so nice and helpful over the phone. We had planned on floating but decided against it because of recent rain and an unexpected drop in temperature. Overall we had an amazing trip and we will definitely be going back.
I absolutely loved this campground. The tent pads were huge and the waterfall area was beautiful. Our children enjoyed climbing on the rocks and splashing in the river. The park rangers were very nice and informative. I can't wait to go back!
This was such a nice relaxing place to stay. We met a park interpreter who was very nice and informative. We stayed in a small tent camping area beside one of the lakes. The hiking trail was beautiful and we saw several woodpeckers!
We loved camping at Steel Creek! You can see beautiful bluff from the campground. The campsites are all in a big grassy field which I love. There are trails to the river nearby and a great swimming hole! There are flush toilets and vault toilets in the campground.
I've reviewed this state park before but this time we stayed at the walk in tent sites and it was even better. The campsite was perfect. Steps from the water and shaded. The bath houses were nice and clean.
We enjoyed our stay at Village creek state park. There was a pretty little creek that ran right behind our campsite. There are 2 lakes at this park and I think both have swimming areas although one was closed. The campgrounds had a nice amount of space inbetween each other and the bath houses were clean.
We enjoyed our stay at Cove Lake. The campsite we stayed at was right on the lake with a pretty view of the nearby mountains. The swimming area is pretty large and nice. I like that the beach area is just a big grassy area. The only reason I gave this place 4 instead of 5 stars is the bathrooms were pretty gross.
This is just a gravel bar along The Buffalo National River but it is beautiful! There are no designated campsites, just park in the parking lot, walk down to the river and find a spot.
The area we camped in (tent sites only) was very nice. We enjoyed fishing from the bank, a short walk from our campsite.
We had a great time camping at petit jean! We went on a few of the easier hikes but they were so great with such cool sights to see like turtle rocks, Indian rock cave, carpet rocks & bear cave.
There is a beautiful area to swim in the cleat water of the buffalo river. The bathrooms are clean with hot showers, campsites were well maintained and we enjoyed using the paved loop for our skateboards and scooters. We also enjoyed viewing some wildlife while we were there. Saw a bobcat in the wild for the first time ever! Directly across from where the put caonoes in there is a cold water spring, very pretty and refreshing!
This place was amazing. These sites were well kept and spaced enough to feel private. We never made it to hike to twin falls but we did play in the creek and jump off the big rocks. We eventually drove down and found falling water falls, and six finger falls! I recommend making a trip to both of you go out this way. The water was a little cloudier than normal due to the recent rainfall but still beautiful!
I was pleasantly suprised with our stay at crater of diamonds. We only stayed the weekend but definitely would have been happy with a longer stay. The first day we got there it was pretty late so the kids played at the park beside our campsite whilenwe setup. The bath house was also beside our site as well as a laundromat. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The next day we went to the diamond mines and dug for diamonds, this was so much fun! We found some small quartz that were very pretty, then we ate at the kimberlite cafe which is right beside the mines. Then to cool off, we spent the rest of the day at the water park which was perfect for my young children. There were slides and waterfalls and the water only goes to 3 ft at the deepest points.
We had a great staybat daisy state park, we swam right at out campsite. The only downfall was that the sites are rather close together and aside from the driveway there was no level spot in the site. We had to set up on the driveway because we are tent campers but it worked out ok. However they did have a very nice playground so that was a plus. The hiking trail was a nice short walk through the woods. My two year old was able to walk the whole trail without assistance.
This was one of our favorite campgrounds so far! The campgrounds were well maintained and the bathrooms very clean. There were parks for the kids to play at and an overall friendly atmosphere.
Long pool recreation area is a beautiful swimming area on Big Piney creek. The view from our campsite on loop A couldn't have been better. The campgrounds were spacious and private feeling and a short walk to the swimming.
This place is so awesome, we had such a great time hiking and playing in the creek. There is so much to do at this park and we definitely will be returning someday.
We had a great time camping at lake oauchita state park. The water water wad beautiful and clear, the bath house was clean and the campgrounds were well maintained. We've already reserved a site for this summer.
We really enjoyed our stay at lake catherine. We hiked to the waterfall with 5 children all under the age of 6 and it wasn't too bad. The campground was nice.
We had a great time at Degray, it wad our first family camping trip. The park was nice including the swimming area. The only downfall was that the site we stayed at (unfortunately I don't remember the number) was close to a busy highway. We would definitely go back but not stay in the same spot.
