Right Next to the Park!

Car camped in one of their small tent sites, which are off a busy road with little/no data and far from town. I liked how this was the closest spot to the park, and the company offers activities at their ranch (I took a last-minute trail ride). Check-in at the pizza/rock shop across the road!

Congaree Get-Away

Car camped here to see Congaree NP in the middle of a heatwave, unfortunately. Great news—my site had lots of trees, there’s a lake to swim in, and the showerhouse had A/C! I enjoyed how secluded and expansive this park is with wildlife, trails, and playgrounds. Long RVs and trailers may have trouble with the trees and turns of the campground.

Convenient and Secure

My first KOA—pricey for a tent spot (car camping) with a small shared area and limited tables. Tent spots are in view of noisy I40. I did feel safe here, considering the KOA branding, and liked the shorter drive to PFNP. Facilities are nice, otherwise, with close bathhouses and a sweet little chuckwagon serving breakfast and dinner.

Lovely Little Stop

Car camped in a tent site for just a night after visiting WSNP. Non-flush toilets without sinks near tent sites and the full bathhouse is a bit of a walk away. Worth it, though, with spacious shower stalls and well-kept buildings. Sweet views of the valley and mountains and far off the highway.

Convenient Location

I car camped here on the tent grounds, where sites are FCFS with grass and gravel options, some with awnings/tables/campfires/etc. Pretty views and near Carlsbad, CCNP, and GMNP; however, bathhouses were lacking shower curtains and toilet stalls didn’t have proper doors. Prices were steep, considering this.

I Could Live Here

Stayed here at a valley tent site (car camping), privately positioned on the other side of a ridge from the owners’ house with miles and miles of hilly desert land around. Bathhouse is hand-built by the owners next to sites, and they offer ice and laundry as well. It is cash only, although phone reservations are highly recommended during cooler months. I felt comfortable here as a solo woman camper, with stars as my roof most nights.

Fantastic Little Find

I car camped here while passing through TX in a tent site, and I found the peninsula-like campground gorgeous! Lake views, deer, and a well-kept bathhouse just feet away. Spots are close together with few trees around, although few others were around.

Cheap, Convenient, & Fun!

Car camped at tent site to visit HSNP and trail ride. Staff were plentiful and friendly. My only issues were noise from a fast road near my site, walking distance from sites to restrooms, and most sites seemed quite tight for SUVs/trucks to park within. Even so, I highly recommend checking out this place. I really enjoyed my nights here and hours in the woods!

Friendly Creek-Side Find

RV spots are suitable for car camping, although a bit close together with bright street lights and showers are outdated. Still, the camp host treated me kindly, and I enjoyed the scenery and walkability!
