This park is quiet and relaxing. Tons of song birds to watch and listen to sing. The sites are large. We stayed in 57 and like the electrical board gave extra privacy. The volunteers and staff were friendly. Bugs were not too bad and they sell a natural repellant that really works. Other campers were friendly, but not intrusive. Dogs every where, but everyone picked up. Bathrooms were cool and clean. Enjoyed walking about the park; saw tortoises, armadillos, snapping turtle, and alligator.
We camped there the weekend of April 29th. The sites are close together, but neighbors were friendly so didn’t really mind. The park has great trails and is well marked. Staff works super hard to keep up the park. We stayed until Monday so saw them clean up after the Sunday rush out. Bathrooms are clean
We really enjoyed this campground. The Lake Loop had really ample sites, and the grounds are well kept. It has beautiful star viewing, and the trail to the ruins was well marked and not too difficult. The facilities were clean and the other campers were all friendly and helpful. We saw deer and plenty of birds. Definitely plan to return.
