Do not stay here

The management and owner of this place do not care about their business or their customers. We had a terrible accident at this campground over the summer where a tree crushed and totaled our camper van, thankfully none of our family was harmed. KOA immediately wiped their hands of this telling us they have nothing to do with it and we needed to deal with our insurance. They did not even feel the need to refund our stay. I would NEVER stay here again and suggest if you do, hopefully you have really good insurance.

Fun for adults

Ginnie Springs is beautiful! Although, we went as a family and it’s definitely more for the college or adult crowd. This is probably because alcohol is allowed, where the other springs in this area it is not. It’s also a lot more crowded of a place, even being there on a Wednesday. If you get there early there aren’t too many people, besides the divers. By lunch time it’s comparable to a busy beach on a weekend. This would definitely be a fun adult trip!

Peaceful

More detailed review for their Magnolia campground but this place is very peaceful. Bathroom facilities are nice and clean, hiking is beautiful here with a lot of wildlife (including ticks so make sure to spray!) Our campsite is really nice also, easy hookups, clean hot showers. Would recommend if visiting the local springs!

Very peaceful

O’Leno is a great place to camp if you are visiting the local springs! The campground itself is very clean and quiet. The spot we chose was a little tight to back in our 30’ camper but it is super nice! Tried going on a little family hike and all ended up with ticks so make sure you spray really good if this is on you agenda. The bathhouse here is a perk. Clean and individual, large hot showers. O’Leno is in a great location to visit Ichetucknee, Ginnie, Gilchrist and Poe springs. Only about 15min drive!

ATV heaven

Peace River is the place to go in SWFL if you have toys! Trails, mud holes, beaches. My small kid particularly like the “raccoon restaurant” hill which is the dump but fun to ride over. I was concerned to see no helmets being worn by anyone especially it being so crowded but that’s a personal decision. Our 4 camper site is a good time because we enclose our own little space. The community showers/bathrooms are gross so just use your own or the woods. They have fun entertainment; bands, ice cream social, bingo, a food truck. If you haven’t done your research the Peace River is full of alligators in the spring/summer time. They didn’t bother us but they also didn’t seem too afraid of us either. In all this campground is fun but it’s not what you want if your looking for the calm, beautiful nature camping vibe.
