Lots of hiking and fishing opportunities.
Nice family campground. Has a lot of amenities including shower.
I have camped here twice and hiked around quite a few times and this is one of the most beautiful campground in Wisconsin. If you’re into fishing, Day Lake campground offers variety of fishes without any motorized boats. So many hiking trails nearby makes it even better.
I honestly can’t write enough about how cool Hoodoo Valle Farm is. It’s an experience you’ll find no where else. Numerous options for staying with leveling degrees of involvement. Farm animals, gardens and the best folks you could ask for, this wasn’t just camping or experiencing the beauty of nature, this is experiencing LIFE, at least how some folks wanna live it..and we just about moved in. If you want to learn while wide-eyed and wild over the wonders of the world, stay at Hoodoo.
Beautiful park with spacious campsites and clean bathroom/showers. Quiet, peaceful, and woodsy hikes; perfect for a restorative nature get away. Oh, and good cell service.
The pictures say it all, Buffalo!
Beautiful log cabin in the mountains of Idaho, located in Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest, so astonishing views are plentiful. There is no cell service here, so prepare for the trip ahead, print out your maps to the station, otherwise getting lost on your way here is a very likely possibility. BYO drinking water, headlamps and sense of adventure. Pack out what you pack in..must respect the power of nature.
Near by attractions are Florence which is a well known location for gold mining in days past, nice place to hike and explore the area’s history.
Hiking trails are easy but limited, the views are exquisite with clear blue turquoise water. The attraction is Quarry Lake, no swimming in the quarry but swimming at the beach. Great for families, older folks, excellent hike and camp combo. Recommended.
Rock climbing, swimming, hiking but not for beginners, nice variety of woods and open. Bluff lends excellent view after the incline hike! Super busy spot in summer, not so much in winter, just like the other location in the park.
Kayaking, sunsets, stunning natural beauty. Excellent way to spend five days with close friends, especially at these prices. Playing cards around the fire, homemade granola and bladders of wine. We were the loudness things around. Five stars.
Pet friendly and the perfect get away. Relaxing, quiet and surrounded by nature. We’re lucky enough to plan ahead and book for the fall colors. Highly recommended for those who respect nature, it’s beauty and the silence they encompass.
Playing nude volleyball was on my bucket list. We came here for a volleyball game and ended up staying the night. No photos, excellent time.
We love Minnesota, almost more than we love Wisconsin - only because the natural beauty and the numerous, non-ending lakes to explore. Instead of “ruffing it” we decided to treat ourselves with a cabin rental and don’t regret the splurge. Adorable cabins, with nice layout, on Pine Mountain Lake, which is one of many is of Minnesota's hidden treasured lakes. I don’t fish but it was fun watching others. This stay was quiet, relaxing and we left feeling rejuvenated. Excellent amenities and folks. Ya know, MN nice is a thing!
Busy, loud with lots of fun opportunities to meet other folks, bbq, check out the bar, enjoy good eats and top off the good life with friends and family. This isn’t our usual kind of camping but we have family in Eagle River and wanted to explore the area while visiting. Not sure what it’s like off season, but this is an excellent place for family gatherings and summer activities. Top notch amenities.
If you’re a serious boater who loves a good challenge with the goal of spending buggy days in the thickets of the woods along Lake Superior, this private boat-in site has been tailored for you. Perhaps early spring or late fall would be an ideal time to visit this location, either way, the landscape is stunning, no one else around. Bring your bug nets, spray, bear rope, you’ve joined nature.
This is a great place to experience nature near the cities. With the convenience of its location in mind, the entire grounds is surrounded by roads, highways and the constant hum of traffic, sometimes louder than others. We also were mislead on our hike and ended up leaving the parking and following the Ice Age Trail for about a half mile, which was all paved and followed huge power lines which buzzed above our heads. This would be nice for wheelchairs. Once back on the yellow trail, the gravel returned below our feet and we made our way to the boat dock. Here was a beautiful ramp enhancing wheelchair accessibility. Beautiful boathouse rentable seasonally. Heated in-door plumbing for the toilets that were open, vault toilets also available and all were clean, even off season. Nice that it’s by the lake. Dog friendly, even a dog swimming area. Group camping, open fields, numerous grills and picnic tables. Lots of pluses and negatives for this park, it all really depends on what you’re looking for.
Kayaking trips are great but sometimes finding a wilderness place to stay and keep yourself submerged, away from civilization can be tricky when traveling. This was a great place to plop the tent for a quiet snooze before heading down the Saint Louis River. Excellent experience, exhilarating rapids and tons of wildlife in this area. Clean and quiet.
As we continue our trip in Northern Minnesota for our Honeymoon, we try out our new hammocks and had somewhat a tough time foraging firewood, luckily under branches and standing dead trees were about. They ain’t tellin a lie when they say back country. Utilized our rope to tie up our food for safety. Excellent hiking and solitary location. For lovers of nature and roughing it.
As we traveled our way around the Northern woods of Lake Superior, we didn’t know our destinations. Seemingly each one better than the last, we call this one our Honeymoon Lake. Serene, private, ideal. If you want to convene with nature and spend quality time away from civilization, stop here along your way.
When traveling long term with the destination of peace and serenity, places like this are necessary. Freedom, silence and a feeling of oneness with nature heighten your intuition and joy for life. Simplicity is key and the mind is free to relax towards thought of beauty and love. Stay here if you appreciate nature and all it’s sustainable power, it’s magic.
