This camping area is deep in the canyon and the area is full of options for hiking, water sports, or just enjoying the beauty of nature.
We love going to Prineville Reservoir State Park because it isn't too big- lots of grassy spaces, great boating and beach area. The swim area is marked and dogs are not allowed in that area so you don't have to worry about dog messes where your kiddos are walking barefoot and swimming. The campsites aren't very big but they have a nice layout that makes you feel like you have your own space. The restrooms are nice with showers available as well.
This campground feels like wide open spaces with room to roam~
This campground runs along the water and every campsite has a gorgeous view. It's a great hiking area and we also spent a day searching for and exploring caves in the area.
We've been camping at Detroit Lake State Park for many years and love the beauty of the lake, the trees, and the mountain. We feel that the rangers are friendly and work to keep things looking clean and inviting. Campsites aren't very far apart, however it seems like people in nearby campsites are always friendly and considerate for the most part.
