All camp spots are right on the water, though most of them have cat tails and thick vegetation making it difficult to get to the water. Each site has electric that you share with your neighbor. They have a water station, dump station, showers that could use some attention, they have a nice playground for the kids, some picnic shelters, bathrooms and garbage cans. We stayed over the 4th so it was very busy but still enjoyable (coming from a family that prefers our solitude). There isn't a lot of water access for shore fishing and swimming is prohibited in most areas. There is a swimming beach about 1.5 miles from where we had camped which was pretty central to the grounds. It's not a big beach area so busy days it can be a little crowded. It is nice and sandy and great for the kiddos, though. All in all, the campground was nice and I would stay again!
The site we had was level and close to the water which was really nice. There were only 2 things that I wasn't a fan of - the fire ring was set in the corner of the site with 2 sides close against parking blocks so you couldn't put more than 3 chairs around the fire and there was a small but steep hill on all side of the site aside from the road. There were lots of other nicer sites though.
This campground is well mowed and cleaned up regularly. They have fire pits, picnic tables, toilets and garbage. There is a park for children and access to the river as well as a boat dock. The sites are mostly level and gravel. The only downside to the place is that there is a high presence of locals that drive through late into the night. In order to stay here, you must visit the local sheriff's office and obtain a permit (pictured below). The camping is free and you can only stay for 3 days.
Not too bad for a quick overnight stay. Right next to the highway so lots of traffic. The grass is nice but they are having a problem with prairie dogs. Restrooms were clean!
The sites are level and grass is nicely mowed. There are fire rings and picnic tables. It has great access to the river, right below the dam and has a boat dock. Lots of trees for shade! The campground has toilets and water (push and hold the nozzle down). If you come during paddlefishing season (May & June), the banks will be filled with fishermen trying to snag into one of these fish. Though it's a busy time of year, it's a wonderful time to stay and see them working in fish that can reach over 100 lbs. There is also great sturgeon fishing in the area as well. Absolutely recommend staying here!
The RV sites all had electric hookups and they had good space between each. Not a lot of shade, though. Would be nice if there were walkways down to the water so you didn't have to beat through the trees and shrubbery. There is a playground for kids. The lake has lots of open shoreline. There is tons of local traffic. A lot of the same vehicles that just drive through 10-20 times a day. It's a bit annoying. Lastly, they do have port-a-potties around the grounds but they are all riddled with large spiders and generally out of TP.
It's a decent campground. The cliff view is really nice! spaces are pretty close together, though. They say there are full-hookups but really there is only 1 site with both electric and water. The others only have electric. There is a restroom and it's very clean and well kept with a garbage and hand sanitizer. The locals come around during the day to walk their dogs so it makes for a decent amount of traffic through the area.
