So much fun. Bring dry wood! Don’t forget your meat ( obviously we did)! I Great time regardless. Canoe and then camping on the river. There was a storm, it was a rough summer (2023) many storms. So much fun.
Highly recommend.
I’m a tent camper so tucked in the back was great. It’s a bit of a normal RV easy camping almost glamping with the amenities around.
Great tree covered sites. Bathrooms nice. Site loops confusing, friends couldn’t find me. Very family friendly not for ppl that stay up past 10pm.
Great Michigan life.
It was chilly when we went, since you are right on the lake during the first week of April. Once the sun was out it was great. There’s a camp store. Many hiking trails & these sites are literally a dune walk to the beach.
Well it’s a mile hike in tell your friends prior it’s not 500 feet, oops! Not for the new camper! I loved it. Great camping be very careful ticks are around at this site due to us being in their habitat.
Water is 1 mile and 200 feet away. Just like to be clear.
No Phone service! Love that!
Great dunes covered in dune grass, beautiful water next to the pier where we can got to go fishing. Great Michigan sunsets, clean bathrooms and nice fire pits. Big lake and inlet lake available. Bait machine was so fun for me, it being my first. Showers really nice and clean. Sites close together hence the 4 not 5 stars but ppl are nice so no big deal. Camp activities for kids, all around great camp grounds.
This was such a great trip. We were able to come over on a ferry, which took about an hour and then hike in after a trailer dropped us off. Water is about a mile out so that is a hike. After I bought water pills, so I will be more prepared next time. Friends had filter bags so that was ok. Great island for the warmer months. First night we we didn’t have neighbors second night we did, site was about 40 yards from ours. There was pit toilet right by our site I was surprised it was even there and it was nice.
