Group camp

We loved the group camp site except for the fact the people would walk through it. There was a main hiking trail and lots of people came through. Our dogs did not care for that surprise. Otherwise fairly clean. They come and freshen up the outhouse daily and empty the trash cans. For the group site there is tons of space and very secluded which was great. Also right on the river!!

We picked a site at the end looking to have less neighbors. We were told two tents per site no more then 6 people (we had 4). The camp was beautiful and had great trails and clean showers. I recommend going down to the bluffs, most beautiful stop out there. We wish that the day site at the bluffs was a campsite. I want to give an honest review so please read to the end because they did make things right. Our 5 day trip hoping to relax was quite loud. unfortunately the time we went, there was also a church group of atleast 50 people and kids. they did not follow the 2 tent per site rule and spread across camp. this was not the owners fault but we wish they would have enforced their own rules on this group. they did make up for it giving us a full refund but because it's so open ask if there will be a large group there or not. they also deliver wood and ice which is amazing. the lake had a bad smell with blue green alge not recommended to swim.

Variety of spots

Great trails! Most sites are located along the river. We were at the furthest location called buck hill. About a 2 mile hike from your car. They did give us the option to temporarily park on the hwy to drop our stuff off (yes it's totally cheating but if you were given the option wouldn't you take it?) Then go back and walk it without all of our gear. They allow dogs with us a plus for us. The grounds were all kept very well! Definitely would recommend this location. Only down side is that you are near the hwy and can hear all the cars driving by.
