This campground is located right in town and walking distance to everything. However, it’s surprisingly quiet. I expected it to be much louder but was pleasantly surprised. There’s a friendly fox that roams the campground and a few marmots. The sights are clean but close together, as is with most RV parks. The bathroom is a little older but works great. The host keeps them clean and working well. We got up early and beat the crowds to crystal mill then walked from our campsite to slow groovin BBQ for dinner. Overall it’s a great place to stay if you’re wanting full hook ups while exploring the marble area.
We stayed here the first day it opened in June of 2022. Only the middle loop of the campground was open at that time. Big sites, lots of pull through options. Very clean bathrooms. The hosts were friendly and informative. The short hike out to the overlook is worth the stroll. The views are amazing. Closest store is 45 min away so come prepared with everything you’ll need.
The campground is a little ways off the main road so it’s quiet and private at night. During the day It’s a busy due to commercial rafting groups being dropped off in regular intervals. The views are absolutely stunning. The sunsets and star gazing is top notch. The site we stayed at was well kept and perfectly level for our camper. However take note that this campground is very exposed. Zero shade or trees to break the wind. It was very windy during our stay. So be prepared to tie down tents or bring your own shade if it’s hot. Vault toilets are kept clean for the most part. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
This was our 3rd night camping spot on the white rim. It’s 6 miles off the main road. Super sandy driving. Vault toilets. Unforgettable views
This was our first taste of the white rim trail. Shaffer is steep. But well maintained
No shade. But the views are stunning. Does have a few dispersed vault toilets
The road getting to this is a total b*tch. But the views are worth every bit of the hassle. It’s the perfect place to watch the sun set after a long day on the trail.
This campground is great. My family and I stayed in the main part of the campground. Nice sites. Very friendly hosts. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of shade.
We stayed here at the first part of May. The weather was perfect. Bathrooms were very clean. The water was too rough in the canyon to swim. The views from this campground were great. Fire pits. Picnic table with a canopy covering. For free camping it doesn’t get much better than this
It was very windy while we were here so the camp shelter in each site was a life saver. The bathrooms were very clean and the dish washing station was a huge perk. This campground is very exposed so be prepared for it to be cold and windy. We unfortunately made the mistake of only checking the weather in Moab and didn’t pack enough warm clothes! Very little cell service. About a 2 min drive to the overlook. The park fee is included in your campground reservation cost. Overall it’s a beautiful campground and I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore deadhorse.
We booked this at the last min wanting to get out of town for memorial weekend. This was the absolute only thing I could find. I’m usually not one for RV parks, but all non private campgrounds were still closed due to covid. I wasn’t sure what to expect. The facility was at about 50% capacity due to covid/social distancing rules. The staff was super friendly. They had spent most of the quarantine remodeling the bathrooms and they were wonderfully done and spotlessly clean. This was the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately they hadn’t finished all the quarantine projects that had originally planned. This resulted in a very messy, unmarked, un-shaded, and overly crowded tent camping area. Since the sites were unmarked, we came back to tents pitched all over the place, even in the road passing through this part of the campground. It was an unorganized mess. But overall we were just happy to be out and recreating in such a beautiful place. Oh and the views are pretty good from this RV park as well.
