Campsite overlooks the beach and ocean. Sites are fairly close to each other and very open. Not much trees or shade. It can be tricky to find a spot with an actual view sense at lot of RVs will fill up the front row blocking the ocean view for any sites behind it. Trails that lease straight to the beach.
Great campground. Quite. There are a variety of site sizes. There is also a cool little trail called the Pioneer Trail that has historical information. You can purchase fire wood about 5 minutes away on the main road. Our site (#31) had a great view of the river and little trail straight to it.
July 2020 - Great campground! All the tent sites were filled but they were allowing tent campers to stay in the RV spots. There are a few spots that have trails at the back of the site that lead to the river. It was great for relaxing after a long day. The RV spot had a water spout. Bathrooms nearby.
July 2020 - We stayed one night on our way to another campground. We were pleasantly surprised. All the campsites with drive up parking were taken so we stayed in the hiker's/backpacking area. There is a parking lot with wagons to haul your stuff to and from the campsite. There was also a small bathroom and trash can. These sites did not have their own campfire but it looked like there were shared areas for the fires. It is a great spot for star gazing and overall beautiful.
We went during Memorial day weekend which is a very busy camping weekend. It's a cool spot and the drive there is beautiful. It's the only campground in the general area meaning it's the only bathroom nearby. I'm sure the experience would be different if it wasn't a busy weekend. The entire time people who were dispersed camping would constantly drive into the campsite to use the bathroom. I mean all hours of the night and early morning. Other than vehicles constantly driving in to use the bathroom, the campsite is decent. I would honestly recommend dispersed camping in that area. There are a lot of dirt roads off the main road that lead to dispersed camping areas that have amazing views and more privacy and not right off the main road. We would of done the dispersed camping but did not come prepared for it. Going when it is not a holiday weekend might be more enjoyable. There is one trail straight from the campsite but doesn't really lead to anywhere. The trail had some nice views.
