It was a good campground. Average services, nothing to complain about. The mountain views are great!!
This KOA has large tent sites and a HUGE kitchen with 3 electric stoves and several sinks and microwaves for camper use. They have movies each night and have lots of trees for shade. No sprint cell signal but good WiFi.
We camped here with a group before getting evacuated from the 416 fire. The pit toilets were clean, and there was lots of privacy from other groups. Lots of space.
Tent sites were in the back and offered a lot of privacy among plants and trees! Clean bathrooms.
The view was great! I wasn’t a fan of trying to find a site, but it’s first come, first served. They have pit toilets in every group of sites, and you pay by dropping your money in a box. There’s gravel everywhere, and nice cement picnic tables. It was very quiet, and very dark at night (perfect for photographers!!)
This campground was alright to stay in. The highway right next to the KOA was very busy and noisy all night long, bring earplugs. The tent sites were a joke. You get a small square in a grid of 16 or so squares. Our 10x10 tent took up more than half of the tent site. The neighbor’s tent was 4 feet from ours, offering little to no privacy. The WiFi barely worked, but the showers were nice. The back showers are private rooms which are really nice, especially when camping with little ones to keep them contained. There’s no water or electric hookups for tent campers in the little squares, I had to fill my jug up from a hose on the side of the main building. To access the WiFi you have to make an account, which was annoying also.
The tent sites had a nice triangular metal and wood canopy for shelter from rain and also for shade. It is right next to an active railroad, so bring earplugs if you don’t want to be woken up by trains several times. The bathrooms were LARGE and pretty clean. Good laundry facility. A good spot to stop for the night.
This campground was alright. They had a snack bar and activities for the kids. The tent sites were big and the facilities were mostly clean. It’s the only campground near Badlands NP and is quite a drive to the middle of nowhere. WiFi coverage was poor and Sprint has no cell service here.
This campground is literally a 2 minute walk from tent to the park entrance! There’s a huge store with an ice cream shop and restaurant. The folks are really nice too. There’s a huge grass area for first come, first served tent camping, which I totally recommend! The Premium Tent (PT) sites are very large and can hold at least 3 8-person tents.
The bathrooms are very nice compared to a lot of KOA’s. A/C in buildings, clean, large laundry facility ($2 for 30 minute washer, $0.25 for 10 minutes of dryer), game room, indoor pavilion/storm shelter in case of rain, large dishwashing sink, and lots of available water spigots. There’s lots of RV sites, and a large grassy area for tents randomly spread out. It is right next to I-90 so it’s a bit noisy from that but it’s super easy to get to off the highway!!
