This is a great campground in the Brainerd lakes area of Minnesota.it is right in the middle of the town of Crosslake but when you’re in the campground you feel like you’re out in the woods. The sites are nice, there are lots of trees for shade. Campers have access to Cross Lake and the Whitefish chain. This is a good family campground too, with play areas and a beach for swimming. You can easily walk into Crosslake to shop or get ice cream, or just stay in the campground and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It’s also a good place to bring your bikes.
This campground is a perfect “home base” for exploring Minnesota’s North Shore. The sites right on Lake Superior give you the opportunities to wake up ecery morning to a view of the lake as well as watching the big ships go to and from Two Harbors and Duluth. The campground is great for families- with a playground, beach and rock hunting along the shore. The sites are nice, and the campground and bathrooms are always clean. There are sites for almost every type of camping experience too.
This is a beautful state park campground. The sites are large and wooded without feeling closed in. There is biking and hiking. I believe you can also fish in the river, but we didn’t try it. The only downside is that their water is contaminated. They provide directions to a city site where you can fill your camper tank, and they give out a gallon of drinking/cooking eater when you check in. At Blue Mounds you can experience the prairie and what it must have been like for early settlers.
The best thing about this campground was its location… close to town, close to the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and close to the Mefora Musical. The campground was clean but the sites werevery close together. The campground had lots of cottonwood trees so the cotton was blowing all over when we were the in June. It did have full hook-ups, so that was a plus.
There are so many activities offered for families you need to stay several nights to experience them all. Staff was friendly and helpful. The campground is set in a valley so the surrounding scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. The only downside is that the sites are a bit small so there’s no privacy.
This campground is perfect for families with the heated pool, swimming beach, super playground and activities like horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, ladder golf, disc golf, and more. They have paddleboards and funyaks to rent, youcan bring your boat to fish or fish off the dock. The grounds and bathrooms were clean. Every RV site had a cement pad to use for lawn chairs or a camp picnic table. The campground had nice big trees for shade. The owners were very pleasant. We had a great time there with our grandkids. I highly recommend it.
