Needed a spot to kill a couple of nights before heading north to Nashville and found this spot- what a gem! John is a fantastic host and clearly loves this spot- it’s super well cared for and very comfortable. I’m in a tent and the convenience of having a proper bathroom/shower/LAUNDRY!! is pretty great. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Clean sites, good bathrooms and hot showers. Nothing fancy here but it’s a solid campground. Dog friendly in the campground and on the trails/walkways, just not on the beach. Camp staff were friendly and helpful at check in.
I spent two nights here tenting it with my dog and had a lovely stay. It’s very buggy in the wooded camping area so bring your big spray, but the sites were spacious and clean. Water and electric at each site a big plus. Beach isn’t dog friendly but if you go 15 minutes north there’s a great dog beach for those traveling with pups! I’d absolutely come back here again.
Helpful camp host, easy to find site and set up. We were one of the few tents at that point- lots of small RVs/vans but a quite campground overall. No showers- closest we found were in Grand Canyon Village. Dish sink behind bathrooms, which were fairly clean and had TP. Would absolutely come again just for the views- you can walk to the edge of the canyon in less than 5 minutes.
We stopped in when we missed out on a spot at Zapata Falls earlier in the day. The road is rough coming up and some of the sites aren’t the most level, but there was plenty of space- we drove in and picked whatever looked good as it wasn’t busy when we visited. Showers very clean, drinking water available. Gorgeous view of the dunes at sunset. There is a general store/restaurant on premises for any odds and ends. Most importantly, only about 2 miles from the entrance to the park!
