We just started to go camping this Spring. We bought an Aliner this week. We are getting ready to camp more often.

Two Parks for one price

We stayed here for three nights and we were able to visit Bastrop State park for the day. The water was full of some weeds so fishing was not that great but we rented a camp and enjoyed our stay here.

Great Park

We enjoyed the palmetto palms and boggy area. We couldn’t believe we were in Texas. There is a nice swimming area for children and a few good fishing spots. The best thing was that we had a Bucees about 2 miles away. We bought great BBQ sandwiches and the best fudge available here in Texas.

Fall Colors

We missed the fall leaves color this past fall but there is always this coming fall. The day we were there it was practically empty as it was freezing but there were several hikers. There was a small RV park but we were staying at Garner that time.

Our Favorite Park

We love to visit this small park several times a year. It’s beautiful with views of the Blanco River. My husband hasn’t had any luck catching fish but he still enjoys trying. I love that we can just reserve a site and be there in less than an hour. No need to pack groceries as the park is right off the Main Street. We’ve enjoyed most of their restaurants around their courthouse. It’s great because we don’t have to cook.

Beautiful During winter

We enjoyed the empty but quiet park last winter. It was cold but the long walks warm us up. There was a little leaf colors. We plan to go back this summer.

Great Park

We went there in early April while the weather was still cool. My husband enjoyed the fishing while I took photos in my walks. We plan to go back as soon as they open the state parks again. These is what we liked: large enough that the campgrounds were private, clean showers, lots of geese and other birds and good fishing.

Good hiking.

This is not one of our favorites but we like to hike and the views are great.  They have some drive thru campsites for anyone that’s new to backing an RV.  There is not much shade and they have some repair areas.  The swimming area is good for small children but not really that big.  It’s far from Johnson City or Austin so it’s best to take supplies with you.

Great shady campground.

This is a state park.  It is pretty big and has good campsites.   Most of the campsites have shade and all have a picnic table and fire pit.   My husband likes to fish and he enjoys the fishing spots.  The park has a great place to go swimming.  We also like it because it’s close to Austin.

Large and Private campsites

We spent a couple of nights at this park. We loved the water falls and the sites are far apart with trees and shrubs surrounding them.

Great River park

This is a great park close to the river. We stayed in the primative walk in area for one night and the campsite was shady and cool. the RV park is not next to the river so it's a short walk away. It has clean showers and bathrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would go back but stay in the RV park this time.
