Still Creek Campground

If you're looking for magnificent views of Mount Hood reflecting off of Trillium Lake, this is your spot!

We started off a little late and Trillium Lake Campground was full. Not a mile away sits Still Creek Campground. In fact, it connects to Trillium Lake Campground by back country roads. Be warned…massive pot holes!!

I was surprised that the campground had many spots open in the late afternoon and wonder if this is another one of Oregons best kept secrets!

The campsites are situated near each other, but with all the trees, makes it feel secluded. Each site has a picnic table and large fire ring and there are toilets available.

Whispering Elms

Nestled in the sleepy town of Baker, NV lies this tiny little campsite. So small that I didn't even notice it as I rolled up to the Great Basin National Park. I actually showed up pretty late..about 7PM, so I wasn't that surprise that the park was full. It was on my way out of the park that I came upon this little hidden spot.

The site actually caters more to RV's and has a few cabins, but the staff were sympathetic to my lateness and gave me a site for my tent.

The downfall is that it sits on a busy road that is near to the highway but they offer toilets, a shower and a bar!

Wahweap Wahweap Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

A gem of a spot tucked away inconspicuously along the shore of Lake Powell. The camp site is so big that I was able to secure a spot at 6 pm on the Saturday before Father's Day!

The views of the lake and surrounding canyons are spectacular with a sunset to die for!

I aam definitely coming back!

Dead Horse Point State Park Campground

The Moab area provides ample camping opportunities from yurts to primitive camping. With Arches National Park campground closures, other spots are going fast. Given that and it being Friday, I was amazed that I was able to snag a spot at the Dead Horse Point State Park campground!

Despite the weather being ridiculously hot (from the PNW…we only know rain and overcast), this campground offers beautiful scenery and well developed sites. Each site has two spots to set up a tent and a RV hookup.

The campsite itself is located at 5900 feet which makes for amazing views but also nothing to shade from the desert dry sun.

Each site does have a covered picknick area, a cabinet to store belongings, and a working light!

There are only 22 sites which book up fast so if you are like me and refuse to be committed to a reservation, better get there early enough to grab a spot!

By day…beware of ravens…they are fierce scavengers. By night…beware of bats…they are blind.

Utah is known for its night skies and this campground lives up to the hype! Truly a gem!

Quick access to Arches National Park

With no camping in the National Park this season, it makes it hard to find a good spot close. Slickrock campground is a small accessible family style camp ground. They have a pool and a hot tub and its minutes from the park entrance. They had a bunch of open sites when I showed up last minute…phew!

the sites are packed in close together but I was exhausted from a day of travelling that it didn't bother me at all. In fact I met some nice campers!

The only drawback is that I couldn't build a fire, but I was grateful that I had a spot to sleep…so I overlooked it. 😊

Gorgeous Park!

Spent one night basking in the beauty of this park! The scenery is stunbing with bison and antelope roaming free! Saw tond of bison grazing! Stayed at Bridger Bay site # 19. Secluded, yet not too far away from people. Set up the tent facing the mountain range and watched the silhouettes of the antelope prancing in the evening. Such a dreamy place!!

Rain and shine

Had an amazing time at the Bruneau Dunes State Park!!

it rained the evening that I arrived but each campsite had a sturdy covered area over a pick nick table. It was amazing!

The next day, the weather cleared up and we were able to explore the sand dunes. It was windy which made the heat more bareable.
