Peaceful Stay on Martha’s Vineyard

Great stay at the only campground on Martha’s Vineyard! Immaculate tent sites as well as bath houses, very clean shower and toilet facilities. Camp store is well stocked, including fire wood, and staying here you are close to all of the quaint MV towns…..whether by car, bike rental, or the island bus line that goes by the camp entrance. The ferry to Nantucket is only a few minutes away too for a day excursion! Very personable staff…..be sure to make at least a few minutes each day to pet the campground dogs!!

Oceanfront among the horses

Wonderful experience at an oceanfront site. Beautiful view from among the dunes and during my time there, horses came by to visit 1-2 times a day. Parking area, pit toilets and shower stalls are a 3-4 minute walk from the oceanfront sites. Bring your bug spray…..otherwise a magical experience!

Great stay waterside!

Beautiful night along the New River! Waterfront tent site with access to clean, personal bathrooms/showers assigned to each site. Camp store is on premises, but other items can be picked up at the small stores within a half mile. I love bringing my kayak here to paddle around! There is a US highway that runs along the back of the campground….so there is some traffic noise, but I think the location and view far outweigh that bit of noise 😊

Peaceful Stay at Acadia

Great stay in Loop A at Blackwoods. Loop A is closest to the short ocean path (100 yards) that takes you down to a rocky shore vista. Connector trails (Quarry Path, Otter Cove, Cadillac Ridge South) can get you to some of top park areas without moving your car! You can get to Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, and Cadillac Mtn to name a few. Bath houses were clean, but there are no showers…..those are provided by a small mom and pop business just outside the campground. Likewise, there is a convenient store (and lobster house) within a half mile too for other supplies. The campground is always busy, but it was surprisingly quiet during my 3 nights…..the heavy forest helps dampen the noise 😊

Clean, friendly….close to the rocky shore

Wonderful stay at Pemaquid Point.  The campground is about a mile from the lighthouse, an easy drive or bike.  Very clean toilet and shower facilities, and the campsites are a mixture of open to mostly shady…..be sure to request your preference.  A small camp store, including firewood, are on site.    There are a few great restaurants within a mile or so in both directions in Pemaquid and New Harbor if you’re not into camp cooking.    A beautiful , quiet corner of Maine!!

Peaceful creekside

Beautiful tent sites along the creek! I was there in late summer, but I plan to return in late spring when the rhododendrons would be in bloom. Access is by about 6 miles of dirt/rock road. There are many trails at all hiking levels.
