Talimena State Park

Nice small State Park. Camp host was very helpful. Good clean shower house.

Park Creek Campground, Rio Grande National Forest

Park Creek Campground Rio Grande National Forest

Elevation: 8500

Directions: In South Fork, Colorado, at intersection of State 149 and US 160, take Road 160 west 7.8 miles to Park Creek campground sign. Turn left at sign into campground.

This small campground, stretches along the banks of the South Fork of the Rio Grande River among mature shade trees. Many sites are adjacent to the river. US Highway 160 is very close by so will have some traffic noise. The campground has the feel of spacious seclusion and is very cool and shady. Accessible, Tent camping, Camping trailer, Picnic tables, Toilets , Drinking water.

Great view of the Arkansas River. Probably best suited for RVs.

Motorcycle tent camping along the river. This campground did not have much shade. Only one group table had a cover over it. Some shade trees along the river bank. Great views of the Arkansas River. Highway 50 close to this campground. It was noisy. All night long, cars would pull into the campground stoping at the restrooms and shining lights into my tent. Probably best suited for RVs and quick spot to camp.

A quiet, secluded spot, lovely views.

Ranch Topanga Campgrounds

A good place to camp if you want a quiet, secluded spot, lovely views, close to both the National and State Parks. Reasonably priced. The managers take great care of the place and have a great camping spot with all the amenities needed. The bathhouse has hot showers, toilets, large sinks for washing dishes, and electrical outlets. I camped in Site#1 February 2020. I had my camp set up in the back of my truck topper, and I was attending an annual 4 day motorcycle rally in the Big Bend region of Texas.

Rancho Topanga is located on the North side of Highway 170, approximately 11 miles West of Study Butte and 7 miles East of Lajitas.

I will definitely come back.

We stayed here 16 days in a 34 ft. Travel Trailer. Our site had an outdoor kitchen, cement picnic table and benches and a lovely palapa. The resort grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. There is a pool, hot tub, showers and gorgeous private beach. The sites are each individually owned and decorated. We enjoyed the nice walk, up and over the dunes on the boardwalk, right onto the beach.

Staff was super courteous and helpful. Grounds were kept clean.
Great location, located between Corpus Christi& Port Aransas.

I can’t say enough about this amazing experience. We will be back! Excellently maintained RV resort!
