Small Sites, Good Location

Campground is small, with small campsites and just OK privacy. Great location, just 15 mins to Telluride. Firewood for sale and drinking water available. Wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here, but will get the job done.

Great Camping Near Cottonwood Pass

Great large campground close to Cottonwood Pass and about 20 mins from Buena Vista. Most sites are nice, spacious, and wooded. Firewood for sale, pit toilets but no other services nearby unless you go into Buena Vista. Great campground, highly recommended.

Incredible Camping!

Beautiful camping spot high in the San Juan’s about 25 minutes from Telluride. Access via rugged dirt road. Saw some stock SUVs (CRVs, Subaru’s, etc.) but questionable to get there without higher clearance and 4WD. There are only 20 designated camping spots with fire rings (portapotties nearby). Sites fill by about noon every day of the week and all sites are walk in. Of the 20 sites, most are shady and have views of the lakes. 3-4 sites are pretty bad, have no views, limited areas for tents, etc. This is an incredible camping spot if you get a good site.

Beautiful Campground

Great wooded campground at the foot of Wolf Creek Pass near Pagosa Springs. Stayed at site A10 which was spacious and shady. Would love to stay here again. Fantastic waterfall and creek access just a few miles down dirt road.

Notes: Loop 20-26 all shady and nice 12 close to road (and on incline) 14 and 15 are close to the river but a very steep cliff to get there. 19: probably an RV site; no place to put tent Sites 1,2,3,4 all right on the road, small, no privacy

Fantastic Campground

Great campground located across the street from Twin Lakes and close to Independence Pass. Many sites are wooded and well separated but best sites are reservable. Walk in sites seem less desirable but a great campground all around.

Stayed at site C3. Large pad for at least one 4-8 person tent and room for additional tents next to the pad. Plenty of shade trees and close to pit toilet.

Great campground, shady and quiet!

Stayed at walk in site #21 mid week.  Great campground and site, close to vault toilet and pretty good spacing from other sites.  Close to road but no road noise to be heard.  Campground is pretty large, mostly wooded and some sites have great rock features.  This is bear country and we heard dogs barking at bears much of the night.  Lock your stuff up!  Campground hosts were really nice.
