One of my favorite campgrounds! After about a 45 minute drive up a gravel road, up the mountain, you come to a campground around a lake. Lots of spots, first come first serve. 2 bathroom houses, with running water. No electricity at the camp sites, water stations around the camp grounds. Very secluded. The lake has great fishing and tons of trails around. Sites have fire ring with grill.
Great camp ground. Easily found. Very clean, temperature controlled bathrooms with shower. Power and water right next to camp pad. Only downfall on our site was it backed up to a road, which had some loud cars in the evenings.
this is a great campground. Quiet, close to all the major sites in GSMNP! We went 4 days over 4th of July- it rained a lot and was always extremely humid. Bathroom were clean, but oddly, always wet? No showers, or electricity. Great camp store on site for essentials (firewood, ice, personal items). Dish washing sink at every bathroom and bear storeage unit at some campsites if you don't want to store in your car.
Read on the website everything you are charged for! You MUST buy firewood there, and it's wet and doesn't lite, it's about 5 pieces for $5. You are charged to bring your pet. Charged for more than 1 car. Charged for more than 2 adults and 2 kids. Everything. Other than being charged for everything- campsites are nice. I didn't stay in a cabin, but they don't look nice. Nice separate area just for camping families. Electric campsites with water, and RV sites are on a small creek. The bath houses are clean and updated with hot water. Property grounds is nicely kept and has beautiful waterfalls you can hike too. The garden and petting zoo are very small. The "fishing" is in a tiny pond and you MUST pay for everything you catch, even if you throw it back. Overall, there are other camping spots in the area that are just as nice and would be cheaper.
