We had space 161 next to the water. The place is well kept. Looks like there have been recent improvements. The view of the gulf is amazing. Such a good place to view the sunset.
The site we stayed at (292) was fairly level, a couple of blocks under the camp side tires. No WiFi but Verizon service was good. Could pick up a few channels with the antenna, no cable at our site. I don’t think there is cable anywhere. Sandy sites. Sewer hookup was about a foot and a half off the ground with an elbow connected. I don’t think I’ll be able to drain my tanks at the site. There is a dump station. Mosquitoes were horrendous. My wife was nearly carried away.
We had to move sites when we first got here because our slide was too big. The valet and office staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We got a better site down by the lake. It was a cost upgrade but we didn’t mind. Mayflies are hatching but don’t seem to be bad.
The people here are great. The sites are nice. I didn’t have to level my trailer, the site was level enough. WiFi works well.
The park is so beautiful. The sites are a little rough but easy to level your rig. The park has great trails around it, they can be pretty challenging when it comes to elevation gain. The lake is wonderful. They were updating cabins when we were there last, they look great. The showers were clean and the bathroom was the same. The host was a nice gentleman. No Verizon service or WiFi. We go here to get away.
I stayed for several months. The facilities are top notch. The pool and grounds are beautiful. They are working through some first year bugs, but I am sure this will be a yearly destination for many. The sites are huge. The valet and all the staff are very helpful.
Stayed in the woods, the staff suggested how to park because of the location of power and water. It was a good suggestion. The grounds are beautiful. The pavilions are great. There are trails around the whole park that my dogs loved. The site I stayed in was dirt but I didn’t need any blocks to level. No sewer, just dump stations. The showers worked well, a little run down but clean. Lots of ponds for fishing. The staff was great. Verizon work ok for streaming. No WiFi.
This place is nice, but you will need to check your site to see if you will be able to get your rv level. I stayed at site C2 and my tongue was on the ground and I still wasn’t level. I even had both sets of wheels up on blocks to get the rear higher. Luckily I wasn’t too far out for my absorption refrigerator to function. The WiFi is iffy at best. We use a king booster and it would drop constantly and was slow when it was working. Verizon isn’t good here either. The lake is beautiful and the location is great. The staff was super nice and helpful.
We are staying here while waiting for a work camper gig. We have a site by the lake. Pretty views, pretty big site. The driveway up to the pad was muddy and rutty when we parked. Some sites have a pea type gravel, ours is just the sandy soil. There is a concrete patio in great shape.
Laundry area has card access as well as quarters. It is clean with a set of washer and dryer labeled for pets which is good, there are a lot of dogs here. It is close to a trail system so you can take your dogs on longer walks if you would like.
It is very dark at night. The only light coming from the vending machines, dog waste stations, and RVs that leave lights on. Bring a light if you are going out after dark.
The WiFi is ok depending on what signal you pick up. We have a booster and used the pool station. Cable is not digital and cuts out now and then. We don’t watch it much.
People have been very nice and welcoming so far. We would recommend. It is a little pricey but I think that is true for the area in general. It books up fast so plan ahead.
Just got here. The people who run this place have been very kind and great to work with on reservations. The site we have was easy to back in. Everything works well. The WiFi is decent. Convenient location for the Martinsville area. There is a river access for canoe at the edge of the campground. I would stay again.
First off, the people who run this place are wonderful people. They are easy to work with and very helpful if your plans change. The sites are nice size with very “homey” landscaping. I didn’t feel like I was sharing my site with my neighbors. The facilities were the cleanest I’ve seen in the last 3 months. WiFi worked well. It is close to all the places you want to see in the Great Smoky Mountains, Pisgah, and Nantahala national forests. Plus the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway is right there too.
This is a great place to camp. The site we had was a little tight for our slide out and steps because of a large tree and the wall around it, but we made it work. The dogs had a good time walking around the grounds. I recommend staying here. The road in is pretty tight along a tree line so be careful.
The campground is beautiful. My wife and I biked/ ran the trails nearby. Our dogs loved walking around the campground. Some nice wooded tent sites that a very large areas. Our spot was a two level site. The upper level was where we parked the trailer and the picnic table and fire ring were down the stairs under a great big oak tree. There was a short path the a little semi-private beach area. Overall it was a great place. Very reasonable price.
