Absolutely breathtaking views on your drive up to this site! It’s only a 15 minute drive from Fruita. Tucked away ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN! We camped on the side of the mountain, so when we woke up we were rewarded with the most beautiful overview of the city and mountains. Very clean and nice flushable bathrooms! I love that the gates stay open all night so we can check in whatever time we arrive even if it’s the middle of the night.

This place is so secluded from the outside world I almost turned back on our way there for fear of getting lost in the mountains! Whenever you think you’ve gone too far, just go a little bit farther and it will be around the corner. It’s such a serene and quiet place on the side of the mountain. I loved every moment of our trip. Except the wind! The last night we were there we could’ve sailed down the mountain with how hard the wind was blowing!

The bathrooms are nice and clean, the campsites are very nice, I loved that each of them have its own fire pit, some have picnic tables. And you’re just far enough away from everyone that you can enjoy their company or be as private as you like.

This is a great place to get away from the bustle of LA. Very quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms were very clean! All of the park rangers I encountered were very pleasant. The only thing I wasn’t too happy about was it closed the gates at 10. So we couldn’t come in any time we needed to. I’ve been to a few campgrounds that you can pay at the gate in a deposit box and the next morning you’d get checked in by a host. This would’ve been nice. Instead of having a 10pm curfew. We didn’t have much time to explore but what I saw was great. I’ll definitely be putting this on my list of places to return to.
