I stayed at Mann Lake as an alternative to camping on the Alvord Desert. We initially were sleeping on the desert until it started raining hard in the middle of the night and we evacuated to avoid getting stuck.

Luckily, even in the middle of the night, there were plenty of spots and everything was pretty peaceful. We ended up staying for two nights.

Just know that Mann Lake is part of an open range so we woke up to baby cows shaking our car (which we didn't mind). All around good place to stay (though less exciting than camping on the playa) if you're going to the Alvord Desert.

I stayed at 'The Pads' in Spring 2020 on a 12 day road trip. This was a great and easy campsite just outside of Death Valley NP. It wasn't very full and the views of funeral mountain were great. There are no amenities so come prepared with everything you need, but things were pretty clean for the most part and I would stay here again.

I've camped at Summit Meadows Airstrip before and came across a lot of trash and sites in gross condition. This is a bit of a free-for-all dispersed campground, but it provides great access to Mt. Hood and Trillium Lake. There are sites of every size and the airstrip is usually occupied by at least a few people. Lots of nice trees for hammocking too.

During this most recent stay, it wasn't too busy so we had plenty of sites to choose from.  It also seemed to be cleaner than last time… maybe because it's the beginning of the summer season? Everyone was friendly and respectful and we got a great sunset view of Mt. Hood by walking just down the road. Great view of the stars at night too!

Overall this isn't the most hygienic site, but it's well established and free so I've stayed here several times and will probably continue to do so in the future.

We stayed in Bend amidst the major heat wave (temps topped at 108 F!) so having a guaranteed campground was nice on a trip full of dispersed camping. The day use area of the park had a line of cars waiting to get in, but accessing the campground across the street was no problem. The sites were clean and the whole area seemed to be well maintained. Bathrooms were very clean as well and it was great to have showers.

Our particular campsite wasn't super exciting and didn't have a lot of shade or good trees for hammocking, but it was a good experience overall. Plus the park is conveniently located fairly close (but not too close) to the main highway so it was easy to come and go in and out of town.

We ended up at Doris Creek while searching for a campground that was close to Glacier but not in the park (since we didn't make any reservations). It's a decent campground with nice lake access. The sites seem to be catered more towards RVS and campers than tents (we pitched our tent on a patch of gravel) but the ground was level. Pit toilets are available and each campsite has a picnic table.

On our last day in Glacier we headed over to Bowman Lake in hopes of finding a campsite. Despite it being the end of June we got there at 2 PM and found plenty of sites open. We had our pick of the little. The sites are all great. Lots of trees to use for hammocks, good picnic tables, and nice fire pits. The campground only has pit toilets, but the secluded area makes up for it. This is the place to go to avoid the regular Glacier camping crowds. The campground is about a 5 minute walk to the lake and just a short drive form Polebridge. Absolutely gorgeous and my favorite place to camp in Glacier.

We stayed at 3 different sites in Fish Creek due to it being so full. The only way we could get reservations was if we moved each day. But all of our sites were great. Fish creek sits in a forested area and is quite a large campground. Several large loops. The bathrooms are nice and it was pretty quiet at night (except for the one night where a thunderstorm rolled through). The campground is within reasonable distance to Apgar Village and Lake McDonald. Definitely a good place to use as home base if you're hoping to explore the park.

I stayed at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park for a few nights last year and loved it so much that I came back with a friend for a few nights. The campground itself is awesome. Each site has a picnic table, grill, fire pit, good parking, trees, and a water pump nearby. The bathrooms are nice (real plumbing) and the showers are heavenly after days on the road without a way to bathe. Love the sand dunes as well. All of the campsites are with in a reasonable distance to the bathrooms and the stars are amazing here. 

This is an awesome place to stay if you want to be close to both Bryce and Zion National Parks. Only downside is that there is absolutely NO cell signal. Great place to get away from everything, but if you're trying to be in contact with the outside world this is not the place to do it.

We drove 16 hours from WA and needed someplace to sleep so this dispersed campground was a great find. We pulled in in the middle of the night only to wake up and find ourselves among the red rocks. There are absolutely no amenities here, but there are several established sites with fire pits. Good views and a good spot close to the park if you're okay with going without water and plumbing for the night.

We car camped at Willow Springs for 2 nights and had an awesome experience. The road getting into the area itself is easy enough for any car and then the campsite roads vary from totally flat to requiring 4WD. There were lots of people camping but plenty of space between all of the sites (and a huge variety in site choices). Awesome view of the La Sal mountains on a clear day and the stars were amazing too. Great place to camp for free near Moab. I will definitely be back.

We rolled into Green River at about 1 AM after 18 hours of driving from Washington. It had never felt so good to fall onto the ground and go to sleep. The only thing that was a problem throughout the night was the sound of a train going by (this likely couldn't be heard from all of the camp sites) and horses neighing from who knows where.

The grounds have clean bathrooms and accessible water. Each campsite has at least 1 picnic table as well and a fire pit (I believe). We didn't spend long at in Green River State Park, but it was a nice convenient place to stay the night after a LONG day of driving.

We finished out our Spring Break Outdoor recreation trip by clamping in one of the canvas tents at Ponderosa. I'd never been so excited to sleep in a bed. We slept with 5 people in each tent. The tents were accommodated with 4 beds (2 twin, 1 Queen, and 1 pull-out couch). We were provided with a power strip for phone charging as well as electricity, extra blankets, and towels.

While we were too tired to take advantage of all the activities offered at the resort, we spent a good amount of time in the hot tub and pool which we had all to ourselves. We then finished out the evening by cooking burgers over the fire and taking showers.

We woke up the next morning to a light dusting of snow, but were not cold during the night. We then enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast which was very nice, especially after having to wake early and make our own food over a temperamental stove each morning.

All in all, Ponderosa was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend it (Plus it's located literally just outside of the Zion Park border).

We came to Moab with the hope of camping inside Arches National Park. This proved to be difficult as we found that all of the campsites we were looking at were non-reservable and filled up extremely fast. We ended up ay Jaycee and it was the perfect solution. The site is just off the side of the road but we didn't find the noise of cars driving by to be disturbing. The campsite is located right below massive rock formations so the scenery was great and we even found a little trail that leads to the rocks behind the campsite.

We stayed here two nights and my main complaints are 1) that there is no water available so we had to fill up in town and 2) The bathroom is a pit toilet (but this isn't uncommon for campsites).

The people here were friendly and the site ranger was present throughout the day making sure that everything was running smoothly.

Another perk is that Jaycee is very close to both Corona Arch and Arches NP so we had easy access to both. The site is also very close to some local swimming holes, we spent one afternoon cooling off at the Mill Creek swimming hole. The other recreational activity that Jaycee is extremely close to is Wall Street, a very popular climbing spot. We didn't partake in any climbing, but drove by many climbers just down the road from the site.

I went on a week long trip through several of Utah's national parks with my university Outdoor Recreation club for Spring Break. We spent 2 nights at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, driving into Zion each day. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly ranger who provided us with a warm welcome and all the information we needed during out stay.

The campsites were all spacious and each had their own waterspouts and picnic tables. This was super exciting since we had previously stayed at a campground without any water access. The bathrooms are fully functioning as well and were a nice change from the pit toilets we had been using. It was a relief to come to CPSDSP and find that we could all shower as well. Basically we were very happy with all of the amenities.

The sand dunes themselves are gorgeous and we had a great time sand-surfing and rolling down them. We returned in the middle of the night to do some astrophotography and star gaze. These were probably the best dark zones I've ever seen.

Our second night at CPSDSP we switched campgrounds because we had originally only planned to stay one night. However, it was decided that we didn't want to take the chance with not getting a campsite in Zion so we talked to the ranger and he was extremely helpful in making sure we had a campsite for our second night. He moved us to the group site (there were 10 of us in our group) which was fully equipped and even had picnic tables under a covered area as well as a grill that can be used if you bring your own fuel.

Overall we had a great stay in the park and I am hoping to come back someday.
