Beautiful Park

We stayed here 2 nights on a week-end. Every site was occupied. There was water, electric and sewer hookups in Area C only. Areas A and B had electric and water. All areas are shady and relaxing. Some of the waterfront sites in C area need more shade. We stayed in site 78 which was water view but not waterfront. The only complaints I had was the flies and people walking through our site to go to the lake to fish. I guess it was the only way for them to get to the lake so it's not that big of a deal. We enjoyed ourselves very much! Our site was in the shade the entire day. The ONLY place to dump trash is like a city block away. They do need more trash cans available to the campers. We did not catch any fish and did not see anyone else catch any either. We only saw a ranger ride through once the entire weekend. It was very quite and everyone was very nice.

Close to City

This campground is in the outskirts of Jonesboro, Arkansas. This is a small park and reservations cannot be made. All sites are first come first serve. There is a large playground for the kids. I didn't see anyone fishing so I'm not sure if fishing is allowed or not. This is a great place to stay and then go to the mall to shop. There are many nice restaurants and fast food places so no need to pack your refrigerator! Lots of shade.

Lakeside Camping

This was called Bear Creek many years ago. The state of Arkansas recently took this campground over and modernized it. There are 14 Full Hookup sites. This park is very clean and has an atmosphere for relaxation. We go here often because it is close to home. The sites all have a water view. Some are on the lake. They are all good sites. Small fishing boats are allowed and Kayaks and boats are available for rent. The bathhouse is always clean and centrally located in the park.

Amazing

Our favorite campground ever! Everything is clean and beautiful. There are 14 full hookup sites that all have a water view, some actually by the water. Very small campground but up to date. We go here 4 or 5 times per year!

Riverside

This campground is right on the river! Water flows by very fast. No swimming. Lots of fishing. Sites are clean but a little close. Lots of shade. Would recommend to those who love to fish.

Favorite Campsites

We are scheduled to camp here for my husband's birthday this year in August. We stayed at Mather Lodge for an extended weekend and loved it here. This is the second time we stayed at Mather Lodge. It is very homey feeling. The beds are not that comfortable but I have seen worse. The rooms are clean and have heat/air. The rooms are clean and inviting. The cafe at Mather Lodge has beautiful views. The food is good and very large portions. One meal will feed 2-3 people! Unless you are a very big eater! I am attaching pictures from the Mather Lodge and the Campground area A. I would recommend this park and can't wait to return in August!

Peaceful

We have camped twice at Wooly Hollow and visited once as a day trip. We love Wooly Hollow. It is very clean and quiet. There is lots of shade and several sites on the water. Our favorite trip we stayed in site #1 that was a pull through site with a water view. There is also an artesian well just feet from site #1. The sound of it is so relaxing. The water was a little muddy when we were here. There are paddle boats that you can rent and fishing boats, too. There is a large playground for the children (we don't have any of those). The trails are easy to walk and the nature is awesome here.

2 Many Bugs

We visited this park twice. The first time it was great. The second time it was unbearable because a hurricane had blown in trillions of "love bugs". Our visit was during the bugs' mating season. The bugs were so thick that you could not even go outside your camper without getting a mouth full, nose full, eyes full, and ears full of these bugs. It was like a plague! The air was black with the bugs. We were unable to do any outside activities because of the mass numbers of the bugs. This campground has water and electric on the sites. It has a dump station too. They have one rent a camp that is very nice. If the bugs are gone, I would recommend this campground. They have very nice fishing docks and boat docks. The water is only visible from 2 of the campsites. There is lots of shade. It is very enjoyable when the bugs are not present.

America's BEST

We have been to many states and campgrounds. This is one of our favorites. It only has 14 Full Hookup sites but they are all beautiful. Well kept campgrounds, lake, and facilities. There is also a tent site area and a primitive camping area. The sites stayed booked, so if you want to give it a try, you need to book well in advance of your desired date of travel. We go here at least 4 or 5 times a year. It is only about 40 min drive from Forrest City and a 10 min. drive from Marianna, Arkansas. There is a boat dock where you can put your boat in the water. They also have fishing boats and kayaks for rent.
