Loved this except for the bees and flies. Quiet, not too hard to get to. Shady.
It was kinda hard to make it this far into the forest, due to some deep ruts in the road, but once hereā¦ It's sooooo peaceful.
Follow the road to the picture on the Forest Rd site. Rutted roads to the north, where these coordinates take you, but beautiful solitude once you get to the right spot. There's a ring for a fire, but basically this is a turnaround circle in the forest. Wet and rainy today, but I'll come back.
It's an absolutely beautiful lake in the forest. The trees are turning and the sky is blue. Only drawback is the Pine Ridge Rd dispersed camping is along the roadside. Not really private. You have to walk to your site if you want to set up a tent. No room for a large RV. But the scenery is beautiful. AT&T works just fine!
Drove 2 miles in to find privacy. Kinda busy here. Nice views of rock formations.
Found a great private spot on Dome Rock Rd. Beautiful views all around and plenty of room, so far.
Easy to find. Kept going after all sites were taken and still found a place to pull off. Good views. Sedan ok.
Had to go a little further than the last "tent" on the app, but found a nice, quiet pullout.
Had to cross two rather deep streams and the road has many ruts and is very uneven.
Although there is a Murray's Lake in TN, as you'll note on the location map, this campsite is in Georgia.
There is a lake, but it's not all that pretty. There's a boat ramp, but the lake is small and I doubt it's worth the trouble. There are 2 drive in tent spots, with 2 more at the end of a trail. Secluded. The road in can be handled by a sedan.
