One of our favorite dispersed sites throughout our trip in Wyoming & Montana! This must be one of the best views of the Tetons- being able to see them through sunset & sunrise from camp was incredible. No better morning coffee spot! We found hiking/horse trails nearby our site & opted to explore around those instead of a formal hike- so glad we did because we got 360 views of the entire valley. Sites are primitive with just a fire ring & bear box, but that’s how we like it. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet spot with incredible views!
This is a beautiful campground right on the Gallatin River near Big Sky. Spaces are well spaced out, electric & non-electric available. The vault toilets were clean & well maintained. We loved the raised firepit with the swivel grate for cooking over. Take the time to explore along the River, lots of animals tracks! Fresh water is available but note that there is no grey water dump in Big Sky, so you’ll need to drive on to West Yellowstone or north.
