Peggy and Richard were our hosts for many years until they retired and passed it down to family - that does just as an amazing job! We did a large breast cancer fundraising weekend every year - with hundreds of us in attendance! WE camped, played live music and went tubing. Peggy always had extra instruments available for loan so everyone could join in the jam sessions and Richard always came by each tent checking on all of us in the evening and hanging with some of us for a bit. They always made whatever special accommodations our group needed and we never ever had an issue! Potties and showers always clean~
Awesome spot - spacious camping spots along the most beautiful cliffs - hiking was wonderful with wildlife galore! Kayaking was the BEST experience I have had yet! Staff more than friendly and very very helpful. Store was great and well stocked with neat things. Showers and potties were cleaner than most places I have been! A++++ all the way around!
Went here with our camping and hiking group and also have been here for 2 different festivals with camping - looove it! You walk into the woods which is kept neat and pick a spot to set up your tent - I looove that! Fishing on the lake was a blast! Family owned and operated so they take great pride in making sure you are having a great tie and have all ya need! Camp store, pool, rvs, tents, lake and fishing - everything ya need for a great weekend! and CHEAP to boot! This place is fantastic and just can't be beat!
My husband and I went here for our anniversary weekend with our camping and hiking group. While some members went biking High Bridge Trail, my hubby and I set out kayaking and loooved it! The staff were beyond fun n friendly - even offered me use of the ranger's personal fishing equipment as I left mine at home! Camping was great and spacious between sites. Beautiful place great people and an all around great time!
I could not wait to get there! I was so excited to go fossil hunting! Camping was way too cramped for me as we tent camp and were stuck surrounded by RVs. The people next to us could be heard whispering! That being said, the fossil hunting was fun and my hubby found a few neat sharks teeth. The hiking was a blast and fishing was productive and fun! Next time though we will just day trip it as I never want to camp that closely to others again - ugh
I used to live in the area and would hike from Back Bay into False Cape almost every weekend and sometimes during the week as well! The only way into the park is by boat foot or bike so it is NEVER crowded which is PERFECT! Wildlife is in great abundance. Shorebirds and waterfowl with the setting or rising sun make for beautiful pictures! Snakes can get pretty bad along the right trail starting fro the parking lot in Back Bay down near the fishing pond so watch your step. We usually stomp our feet and the vibrations make them move off of the trail :-). The staff are amazing, the campsites are right there at the beach for a beautiful peaceful weekend. I can not recommend this place enough! 5 stars and then some!
