Several sites on the river

We stayed for two nights, it is right next to the road so there is a bit of noise here and there from cars. There are 5 spots to camp here most are right along the river. Each has a picnic table and fire pit!

Nice spot for the night

The actual campground was snowed in a bit though high clearance vehicles were able to go all the way in. We ended up in a nice spot just off the road with access to the creek. It’s absolutely beautiful here!

So many sites to choose from!

Took some trial and error to find a spot here, I recommend turning where all the large piles of gravel are to find a spot. The site where we were was surrounded by hills so felt very secluded. Beautiful scenery with lots of juniper trees around! As a heads up service here was pretty spotty but once you find a good area, you can get enough service to hold phone calls.

Great Established Campground

We got here late but met the friendly camp host. Awesome campsites near restrooms, had a picnic table and fire pit with a fold over grill for cooking food. Not free camping!! Paid $25 for the night but it was worth it. We would stay here again.

Site on the Pony Express

Site had a pre-made fire pit. There’s a few spots here to choose from, although if you’re looking for privacy they are somewhat close together. There were 3 others here when we came. Lots of ATVs here. Overall pretty good for a nights stay, especially if you’re in to history!

Great for 1 night stay!

Easy to find even in the dark. Nobody else was here so it was very peaceful. We had a great time as it’s not too hot here yet. This is such a unique area, I would come back next spring in a heartbeat!
