Was quiet, as promised. Wanted to tour southern plantations there in St Francisville, Louisiana. Amanda was very nice and helpful. $34.04/night.
Lots of trains going by! Right by a main highway but we enjoyed meeting the other folks and were relieved to have a place to stay after having made an attempt on a rough dirt road where we had to turn around in BLM land nearby. Of course, after getting to the area we discover that we should’ve gone out to the lake Metairie area and that there is actually a hard road access to that beautiful BLM free camping.
Found the whole Quartzsite area intriguing and lots of activities i.e. craft shows, swap meets and other get together’s. If you do not have a four-wheel-drive then there are not many outdoor activities. We saw delivery trucks for emptying black tanks, Propane, and water. Quartzsite has everything an RV dispersed camper could need.
Walmart nearby DOES NOT allow overnight. Did not check out amenities but the campground had roomy sites and is very well groomed. Everyone was friendly. Filled fresh tank at campsite. Dump station very clean. Great mountain biking-50 mile trail- in park.
Most sites have a lake view. Seems like Arizona takes good care of her parks. Lots to do in the area.
We depend on solar so we really liked having enough sunshine even though we are surrounded by gorgeous peaks. Lots of wildlife and birds, we had families of deer nesting down in the bushes around our camper. Great hikes in the area. Enjoyed meeting new friends around our fire pit.
Rode the scenic Apache Trail Arizona route 88 looking for some BLM land. Couldn’t find a flat place to pull over. Grateful to find a campground near the end of 88. Easy access nice trails in the area for hiking
Very nice couple keep this place shipshape. We enjoyed their hospitality. Great price for the amenities and only 6 miles from viewing the migratory birds at Bosque del Apace.
Perfectly level, no trash, beautiful stars, sunset and sunrise over the mountains. A few other campers. No amenities but hoping no one leaves trash (as that rudeness has closed many other great BLM sites). Went to White Sands National Monument early (25 miles) to get spot to park RV.
Hueco Tanks is a very small Texas state park and we couldn’t get a campsite. We were extremely pleased with what Gleatherland offered us. Great hot shower, internet, a dump station and campsite hook ups for our RV. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay and the Ranger tour of the pictographs in the park that is so close by.
