It was okay for an overnight, The sites are nice, plenty of shade. It was crowded the night I was there but quiet. It's a strange place in that it is on the edge of suburbia, located right next to an apartment housing development. If you like proximity to services, restaurants, etc. It would be a good stop. It would be great if you were visiting family/friends in the area, easy to get to. Just not what I was looking for.
Beautiful park. The hiking was great. I was there during the week and it was almost empty. I hiked for about 4 hours and didn't see another person the whole time.
The hiking trails were a bit confusing, at least the ones I was on, the maps and trail could be improved and expanded.
The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the campground was almost empty but they put all the campers in one area. Would have been nice to be a bit spread out.
The sites are beautiful and nicely located. It is on the edge of a wide expanse of land, BLM I think. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make sure that you are well situated and have all your needs met. They had me in a site that wasn't exactly right for my set up but they made sure that everything worked out including lending me a brand new water hose to make the connection. Wonderful location in the mountains- not at all like the RV parking lots I passed on the road.
