This place is rich in history and is absolutely beautiful. We came in on a Tuesday in July and had the tent section to ourselves. It was quiet and secluded. The ground was a bit wet from the morning rain but we were able to find a dry spot to set up camp. There are numerous trails to explore and they are all marked for easy exploration. The only downfall about this place was the showers. The water pressure was basically non existent. Besides the shower situation this place is a 10 out of 10. If you are a nature lover and historic buff then this is the place for you !!
Perfect beach camping for tents ! This was our first experience camping at the beach and it was great. It was a hot July day , 90 degrees but we cooled off in the water during the day and by evening the cool breeze was perfect !! The only downfall is the traffic from the highway is loud and never stops. Also you are very close to your neighbor. Besides that this is a great site. The staff are really sweet and helpful. The bathrooms are clean, easily accessible and there is a filtered watered fountain. The showers are also clean !!!
We passed through here during our cross county travels. The staff was super helpful and nice. The lake was absolutely perfect for swimming and cooling off. We even got to see some bald eagles as we floated on the lake. The showers and bathrooms were clean and there was even hot water. The campsites are a little close to one another but it wasn’t an inconvenience and it still felt private. Overall a great spot !! Highly recommend.
