Beautiful area

We stayedHere in 2018 And enjoyed it thoroughly. The new campground was a little bit stark and treeless to suit us but the other side up in the trees was really fabulous. the scenery is incredible nice place all around well-kept well-maintained

This is a nice campground

This is also a mixed review, it was a nice campground however the area around it is getting more and more populated. It’s right across the street from a helicopter ride and that’s a lot of whop whop whop noise. We looked around and chose a campsite at the very end number 50 and thought we had hit the jackpot. Right on the water and very private. However it turns out that the people from the hotel above the campground feel very free just to walk right down sit in your campsite, (while we were unhooking hoses and sewer hoses) and use it as their own private beach. One of the weirdest incidents we have ever had while camping. Two adult man and six children and one of them and asked me if I “own the spot “

Great campground

We really enjoyed Milton Hill dam, very friendly people , well stocked store, easy access to swimming and fishing and full hook up sites if you want them. Easy access to my family in Knoxville Tennessee

We like it here

It’s a nice campground, right on the water and very beautiful. Clean sites, easy in and out. friendly deer, Biggest problem I’ve ever had there is every time we get there we walk up to check in and they holler out “don’t bring the dog near the building”

Nice

I have mixed feelings about this campground, you are really packed tight with other campers. but they do have lots of amenities and camping right on the river. The shower houses were mobile units but I love the big field in the valley

I love the James river state park

What a beautiful campground this was . it was wonderful to walk around and they have a fully stocked store. The campsites are clean and well kept and the people are friendly. We will go back to James River sometime

Nice campground

As usual any campground in the Shenandoah national Park is well-kept, well cared for, and just beautifulWe have stayed in all the campgrounds on the 101 mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway and with in the Shenandoah national Park

Perfect family campground

What a great spot this is. They have it all. Fishing lake, river to swim and tube down, They have a store, a grill, a game room, and a big swimming pool. And large beautiful fields. You can even have a tent right on the river. Across from a beautiful waterfall. They even have full hook up sites if you want them .They also have walking trails and a resident population of semitame bunnies.this place really has it all

Words can’t describe how much I loved this hidden gem

What a great spot. The worlds best kept secret. Clean , neat , sites are on the creek , fishing , swimming, hiking. It just doesn’t get any better than this

Not my favorite

The sites are generous and well maintained but no trees. Had odd experience with camp host. Apparently old women steal campsites regularly because he thought I had and had to call the ranger and double check because I’m obviously a liar. Not a good experience . To be a state park in the mountains it is a bit Stark. but it’s very new so give it some time when trees can grow up and I’m sure it will be great. There are lovely hiking trails and you can get to the water it is a bit steep and hilly so be careful of your equipment. The other campers there were just amazing and helped me when the transmission fell out of my truck

A secret hidden gem

What a fabulous park. Camping on the creek , walk to lakes. Beautiful and serene

All time favorite

Fabulous campground. Sites right on the lake. Boating , hiking. Fishing and Friendly people

A favorite stop

Great stop, clean facilities , wonderful people .
