We had a great time when we stayed a night here in October. The campground is nice and has a lot of availability- even on weekends!
The camp facilities are fine. The sites are spacious and there are a mix of shady and sunny sites. The flush bathrooms are fine, and there are free showers. Our young kids had a great time playing on the playground which was an unexpected bonus.
We stayed on a Saturday night and there weren't that many other people in the campground. I'm not sure why it's not busier, as it's just as nice as the state park campgrounds we've stayed in. The town of Ukiah is pretty close as well, so you can get food or supplies easily.
We had OK cell coverage with Verizon- we could usually browse the internet but streaming videos were difficult (you could download and watch them pretty quickly, but just streaming was hit and miss).
We spent two great nights at Deadman Campground. It's a nice, quiet campground pretty far up into Sonora pass.
Many campsites had RVs, but there were a few tent campers as well. There are three vault toilets that were clean and had minimal odor. There are a few water spigots throughout the campground and the water tasted fine. The camp hosts sell firewood.
The campsites on the outside side of the road have a lot of shade, and the few on the inside have a lot of sun. The campsites are pretty big.
We came on a Friday in September, and the campground was full by 12:30pm.
The campsites are nice with lots of shade. There's little separation between adjacent campsites- it's nice if you are in a group. The campsites and bathrooms are well maintained, and the camp host sells firewood.
The campground map shows a creek, but there is a pretty steep drop between the campsites and the creek so it's not something you can play in easily.
We went in April and there weren't many bugs.
We had good Verizon coverage and there is wifi at the bathrooms.
