The campground is in the beautiful forest a short drive from Crater Lake NP. We had a site along the Rogue river, a short distance from a pebble beach that the kids loved exploring. The campground was busy and several groups were quite boisterous. The sites were semi private with trees in between, but water spouts were few and far between. The vault toilets weren’t very clean. The Union Creek resort stores were just outside the entrance, so it was easy to stay stocked on ice and grab an ice cream cone while we were at it.
The sites themselves aren’t very private, but we knew what we were getting when we booked the campground. It was an excellent spot to explore the Bandon area, with beautiful beaches a short drive away. We enjoyed the clean showers and restrooms.
We loved having a playground right around the bend that the kids could enjoy, and the hot water showers were clean and tidy. The sites themselves offered little privacy, but we knew what we were signing up for when we booked this campground. We wanted a base to explore the Redwoods NP and the beaches nearby, and Harris Beach State Park worked nicely!
Beautiful spot, great views of the water and so peaceful. As far as campgrounds go, it wasn’t anything special, except the proximity to the water. Campsites are close together and not much privacy to speak of, and most of the sites are on a slope. We had T-Mobile connection via Canada. Despite any drawbacks of the campground itself, we absolutely fell in love with the island, and will probably be back (we like to explore and don’t often return to places we’ve been).
The facilities, while only vault toilets, were always kept clean. The trees and the river were beautiful. We loved that we were only 5 minutes from the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, and about the same distance to Packwood WA for access to amenities if needed. I’d recommend trying to get a site along the river. There was no cell phone signal (T-Mobile) for miles around.
We loved the large tent pads and covered dining area with pantry (yes, a pantry!). The staff kept the campground clean and tidy. We found it to be an excellent base camp while exploring the Moab area, including Arches and Canyonlands.
Beautiful location, with the lake nestled in the trees. We enjoyed the hike around the lake, and the beautiful night sky. Unfortunately it is a very popular location, so if you’re looking for solitude you won’t find it here. Each campsite was full, and the parking lot was overflowing with day visitors (Friday and Saturday).
I really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The hot spring was super enjoyable, but the pines and river were also just as relaxing. The vault toilets were clean, and though the campground was nearly full, we still felt secluded in our site (A11).
We were pleasantly surprised by this gem of a campground just outside Idaho Falls, which we used for one night on our trip through the area. The bathrooms were clean and showers were a nice touch. The campsites were open but there were only a handful of other campers around (mid week end of June). The only downside we’re sprinklers going off at our campsite right at dinner time (soaking the fire pit), but due to no one else being around, we used a nearby campsite for our fire/dinner. Maybe chat with the camp host before picking a spot to learn what the sprinkler schedule is.
The campground itself was cramped and packed, but bison and elk roamed through each day, and it was just a place to lay our heads at night. The bathrooms were clean. We found it to be a great central location from which to explore the splendors of Yellowstone.
We stayed here for a night during our trip to Yellowstone. It was busy but there was a decent amount of privacy between sites, but you definitely know you’re camping around others. The vault toilet wasn’t the cleanest. The bear boxes at each site were easy to use. A herd of bison camped along the entrance road was the highlight.
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this campground was. We chose it because of its proximity to the highway on our road trip through the area, but it was quiet and peaceful. There were hardly any campers when we passed through (mid week at the end of June). Our kids loved the nature walk/hike at the entrance to the campground. The vault toilet was clean. We wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again, though it probably won’t be a destination stop.
Sites are all fairly close together with not a lot of privacy. The lake is beautiful, but expect noise from boats. The vault toilets were clean.
Got lucky with great weather in April during our one night stay. Bathrooms were clean and easy walking distance from our site. Short hike from the beach, and close to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. The kids loved the playground next to the campsite (giving the adults a brief reprieve while still in eyesight of the kids).
